    I would say pull a sicky but if you've just started a new job, it probably not the best thing to do...however if you do decide to pull a sicky, pull 1 the day before too, doesn't look as suspicious then.

    I've never done it, but know people that have at my job. Seems to work with my boss anyways. Only ever pulled a sickie once, and that was this year for Blackburn in the cup.

    Edit: How contradictive is that, I meant I have never done it twice in a row. There was questions asked when I only did it the one day though. Good thing was that I had lost my voice by being at the game, so they believed I was ill :)

    I've only ever chucked two or three sickies. The way I see it is that they take the piss in getting more hours than they pay for, and where I work when someone leaves their worked is dumped on the rest of us rather than replacing the person. So we're all entitled to a few extra days off each year with sickies.

    And after Stoke a few weeks ago half the office thought I had sinusitis or something as I could barely speak!
