Here is my plan. We play the back 4 then Ralls as a sweeper and 5 up front. Robinson Tanner Colwill Bowler, 2 of those on the wings and the other 2 supporting Ettete and Grant as the attack force. Playing out from the back it goes forward to Ralls who then has a choice of 5 up front. If their defence try to put 2/3 players on Ralls it will leave space for the back 4 to pass it up field to the front 5. Now when they have the ball in our half Ralls drops back to make a 5 man defence and the forward come back just inside out half waiting for any ball played long on a clearance. That is one way we could play, Bulut prefers a different set up as we saw against Leeds and Leicester but of course he knows more about football than me so he must be right.
sounds like a plan maybe our keeper can push up in to midfield just in case they win the ball back and overrun us in the centre circle
Ryan Allsop great save for Hull against Sunderland moments ago if only we could attract someone like that to our club
fair play Brizzle, you're the only one to marvel at my all gold quote so I'll boost it here to give others a chance to spot it you're all welcome (Bar six)
I was busy getting your coat. Did you really think a reference to Old Jamaican 33 would be lost on me of all people? It's a rum old world at times.
you are as sharp as a Mrs Sharpe's sharpest knife Clingo, and if I thought for one moment that I had sneaked one past you I wouldn't revel in it
Life is simple if you don`t like my plan you must be happy with the plan we have against Plymouth, Leeds and Leicester. As if anyone in their right mind could be happy with the plan we have at this time.
Irrelevant. My or we? Just yours or ours? As usual, you are only interested in yours. Such a self satisfied pillock.
Well what to take away from that game then? Apart from the away fans again being rewarded for their attendance (it’s almost like you’ve got to travel to see City win ) the players striving to keep their place in the team did their cause no harm. It’s difficult for Bulut to drop any of the back 5 inc gk on that unyielding performance. Colwill showed why he’s such an enigma. Bowler apart from his stupendous goal did little. Etete spent most of the game defending in his own half, probably on orders from Bulut but showed no goal threat. Wintle was superb in a defensive role. It wasn’t the game to judge the 4 new players brought on, and of course no need to risk Ramsey. 3 hard earned points - that’s 4 away wins in recent outings whereas the home form is the opposite- that’s what City need to achieve at home starting next Saturday. Quite what team Bulut will pick (hope Ng injury is nothing serious) though is going to be interesting.
I still think 4231 is the way to go. Back 5 stays as is for now Stick with Colwill or Rambo as the 10, Fama or Etete as the 9. Turnbull as one of the two, then rotate the wide players. Plenty opportunity for them to show what they can do off the bench. In front of the back 5, Bullut has become a bit of a tinkerman. It's hard to see what he's trying to acheive. I still don't know what his 'style' is. Hopefully Turnbull will help with creativity for the front 4, with the others providing competition and cover.
Really need to get my head back in the game and ease back on the galavanting with Mrs Brizzle I reckon.... I saw someone on one of the threads mentioned style of play and how we have no idea what ours is or what Erol is trying to achieve.... Personally I think that when you look back to pre-Rambo injury, we were countering/attacking with a bit of purpose, breaking lines and moving the ball quite well. I think that is what he wants to do but has been slightly hamstrung by a lack of suitable personnel. It will be interesting now to see if this does start to redevelop again now that Rambo is coming back, Turnbull has joined and Colwill appears to be finding his feet and showing a bit more consistency. With the changes we've made to the squad then I'd suggest we probably have just a good a shot at 5th/6th spot as those around us. Any team that can start to string a few results together now will definitely be in contention. My only concern is finishing chances and whether the lack of that natural finisher will bite us in the end. Definitely looking up rather than down again now.
I was thinking along the same lines too. Like it or not, there's no getting away from the fact that we've not got the most gifted of squads. Obviously there are a few exceptions but the two most creative players have been crocked for a significant time. I their absence I don't think Bulut has had much choice other than to tinker with an inconsistent bunch of individuals. So trying to identify his style has been next to impossible without the stars. Let's face it, it's all very well having a preferred style, but you need the players to bring it to fruition. Hopefully, the little bit of strengthening in the last window along with the return of Rambo, will afford him the chance to start implementing his philosophy... whatever it is. No axe to bring with Bulut at this stage and I think things will start to look up a little bit. Blooooooobirds
