Agreed. The improvement since he has been starting games in the last few weeks had been very noticeable. Frey, once fit, may be the option to get on the end of crosses that Dykes just can't do for some reason but there's no obvious read across to Armstrong's role.
Saw some Brum fans on twitter suggesting us and Huddersfield won't get much more than 40 points. If you look at Marti's 16 games in charge I think it's 5 wins, 5 draws and 6 losses. If we replicate that over the final 16 it would get us to 48 points. God its going to the wire, every game is vital. How do we fancy our chances?
Hand on heart I still think the run-in is horrendous and we’ll balls it up. Go on a little run now before Leicester and we give ourselves a great chance but we need to win the most winnable home games and I just don’t think we will. Offer me going to Coventry needing a point now and I’d take it. Nice to win today though.
Slim to fairly slim but not zero at all. Dare I say, the new CEO does not seem like a fella who likes to lose.
Frustrating! England, 10 points ahead and with a scrum 5 yards out from the Italy line with the clock gone 80 mins, give away a penalty leading to an Italy try! I was one Blackburn booking off a 34/1 winner. Was a Luke Shaw foul off about £170 against Wolves. But did get about 300 off a fiver on Liverpool smashing Chelsea the other day so swings and roundabouts.
Just saw the result……… Absolutely f$@king blooody fantastic! Great win team. Let’s have a Marti Party!
I definitely would too. It got so frustrating at times but no other player could have got in those scenarios that he found himself in. Blackburn left massive channels wide open and the ball was on more often than not. Armstrong had a few strops at through balls being wrong or not played, as in return a few look pissed off at his decision making too.
Not only did Armstrong play a great ball for the second goal but his holding up and possession for the thirty seconds before was very impressive. He's not ready to challenge Messi & Ronaldo but he does a bit more than most of our team.
Brum have a pretty easy Feb but a pretty awful March (like us). I think they will be well in the relegation mixer. Us? Who the **** knows. One week we’re collecting points the next week we’re trying to play like 11 Willocks. Let’s hope the win, some fresh faces and Marti’s team can pull something out of the bag. Oh and stop the friggin around at the back when the other team is pressing, you look stupid - like really really stupid.
We've had 3 chances to move out of the bottom 3 and ****ed them all up. Whether it's the pressure and we've bottled it or whether we just weren't good enough is debatable. If we get another opportunity to move out of the relegation zone we simply have to take it, I think the boost of finally getting out of it could spur us on to survive !
Next week Southampton who are currently on a 22 match unbeaten streak are at home to Huddersfield, we need them to smash them to bits . You just know that after that run they'll ****ing lose 1-0 !
A great result and played in good style. We are now at the back of the pack fighting to avoid the 3rd relegation place. Six teams are now in a group 5 points above us, so in theory, they are catchable. But the key is to maintain good form. Our fixtures in February, except for the next match against Norwich, are all against clubs in the lower part of the table. Hopefully we will be in a more sustainable position at the beginning of March.
Someone should tell Colback that Blackburn didn't equalise. Having said that I like the way he speaks and clearly he has taken on more responsibility as one of the senior pros in the last few weeks
I never felt more like singing the blues. When Rangers win and Chelsea lose. Oh Rangers, you’ve got me singing the blues. Not sung that for a very long time.
