Oh well. Just as expected. At least we all won some more money at the bookies. This is becoming too easy.
the writing was on the wall as soon as the team was announced. Packed with defenders, just like the first half against Blackpool. OK he changed things at h/t and we played better and there was hope for about 25 minutes, but then he got a bit silly with the substitutions and Derby held on easily. Derby's goal came from a routine defensive howler, passing the ball across your own 18 yard line, and after that AM-B didn't have a save to make..
Fleming Out! Jones In! Jones Out! Shake it all about. Do the hokey kokey and we're going down, that's what it's all about...
Jones is completely the wrong choice. We need Warnock. We are in a desperate relegation battle. Can the board of directors please just make one correct decision ?
I turned up not expecting much out of thus game. Fot about half an hour we held our own against Derby and then the usual terrible mistake occurred and we were behind, and I don't remember their keeper making a save in the first half. Second half we took the game to Derby and Kanu had a great chance to equalise.which their keeper tipped over. But Derby gradually locked us out, and we had very few chances for the last 20 minutes. AMB looks short of confidence, there was one cross he thought have caught but instead flapped back out. I thought Ness looked good today, and Louie Watson as usual looked good, making me wonder why he only came on at the end. As for May, can someone explain why our best goalscorer since Taylor is being played out of position? A player like that, you set the team up to feed him in the box.
Charlton's starting XI included two players who have scored goals for CAFC this season so far; Alfie May (16) Tennai Watson (1) Kanu (3) and Campbell (2) came off the bench late on. As did Louie Watson (no goals but 2 assists). We've now used 39 players this season, just in the league. In all competitions I think it's 42 or 43. After 25 starts or sub appearances from our January signings, Charlton have seen 0 goals 1 assist.
The last two games I get the impression the priority has been to fit in the new signings by hook or by crook. Hopefully the new manager's priority will be to win games.
