Manningball Play around at the back going nowhere. Then the genius send it long wide to McCrorie and Pring invariably where Vyner and Max find touch. It's gone a few years ago one clown talking rollocks to another who's got Tinnion and Crayon boy believing the latest set of rollocks. 5 wins in 18 !!!!.......And we get in 3 teenagers and a 23yr old sent back.........and all bloody midfielders. You can't make it up.
Pearson used to play it round the back, one of the reasons Max came in place of Bents as Bents could not play sweeper ball like Max. Difference between playing round the back is we look for forward balls. The amount of times I sat there watching Dickie, to Vyner, to Dickie to Vyner was unreal. Most and I was probably one was Pearson was not the previous double act, just put up with it. But let’s not forget he played Sam Bell or Weinman (and also Scott) right back and other youth player. He even played Sykes left back and brought in a player from academy to play RB when surely the better option would be at least play Sykes RB and grab a academy to play LB Nige done well getting rid of the overpaid players, but did he really? All he actually done was run their contracts down sat on their arses allowing them to drain the clubs funds and not actually use them. At least try and loan them out, even to league one to get part of their wages paid. Barring two youth players one we knew would make money and one that was so rare that my grandkids could even made money on. Who did Nige actually sell? Blame Manningball all you like, we were **** to watch previously and was **** last night. But this morning shows we lost to Leeds by 1 goal the same as it did against Nige by 1 goal. Last night reminded me of Leicester where we was **** scared to lay a glove on them. I’m waiting on the next comment the club never backed Nige but they are Manning. I would like to know how much we paid for two loans and two kids plus one player but loaned him back was. Although I do agree with that last one, why pay Birds wages and not need him till Williams and James are gone.
Rod Forget NP or any other previous manager. The powers to be told us we have a decent squad who should be doing better. Lamp oil. We are bereft of quality. I take my hat off to you and other season card holders.
there was comment on the interview when I lost the match stream to just comments and interviews ... he has signed for us starting in the summer [ we all know that of course ] but the deal and his contract are encompassing all that "in the price" we have just usurped any summer bidding war! for him! See Twine was absent again!
No, they said we had a budget that was top 6 or 10, and a squad that should be doing better? I assume the squad doing better was based on the wages being paid?
Our recruitment as a club is wrong, simple as. Has been for years, right back to SOD, and Landsdowns 5 pillars nonsense. The managers have had very little say in who comes in from what it looks like. Why else would successive managers only agree to signings for the future, not the here and now.
The bottom line and stats show it -Nigel did better than Liam. We ain’t won a game of football at Ashton Gate in 2024 and the current results are relegation form. Nige dealt with the **** show and reduced the wages.Had his best two players sold for over 35 million and not replaced. LM has been told to improve on Nige has been given signings and a war chest for the upcoming window. Nige has taken sides from championship to premiership. We have a gaffer that had experience with MK and Oxford and coaching in a few prem teams. Lansdowns could not handle Niges no nonsense approach. Sadly costing him his position when only a small minority wanted him gone.
Tinman has more clout than Manning. Nige put Tinman in his place a number of times another thing the Lansdowns did not like.
Most of you know my opinion of Nige and the way he was got rid of, no point crying over split milk, he gone. looking at the here and now, LM was brought in to improve us this season, was sold to us as would be able to achieve better with the same players etc. I think general consensus is up to now he’s failing to do that, points gained and performances suggest it as well. last night emphasised just how poor we are. The one thing I would say is even when we played badly under Nige, I always felt we’d given everything, both individually and collectively, I didn’t feel that last night, we were absolutely shocking, but for Max ,,and poor Leeds finishing, we’d have lost by a cricket score. The last time I felt this low after a City performance was Boxing Day against WBA, which was the only time I actually wanted Nige out. I’m afraid personally, Im slowly really taking a dislike to LM and his tactics. I’m trying desperately not to be negative, but right now it isn’t working.
He persists with Mehmeti brings nothing to the table and Nige knew that. Plays Knight out of position. Plays Williams of TGH Conway and Bell are fractions of the players under Nige. wells is a passenger and Nige new it. Vyner and Tanner cannot cope with quick attacking players. Sorry so far results clearly show we have gone backwards. We were hard to beat under Nige-under Liam it is a lot easier.
Whatever spin they put on it, replacing an experienced championship and above manager, with a largely untried, certainly at our level, manager was a massive risk, especially when our league position didn’t really warrant a change. I desperately want us, and by association, LM to succeed, but frankly atm I’m not seeing it. I hope I’m wrong and we turn this all around, but at present I honestly don’t see it turning out at all well.
I’m being devils advocate here; If Nige didn’t like Mehmeti then why the F did he buy him? Which brings us back to the old question; who is in charge of recruitment? If we can’t blame Nige for Mehmeti then we can’t blame LJ for Diony.
The reverse of that argument is we can't give any credit to Nige for the success of Semenyo and Scotty, oh and of course Tammy and Bobby Reid's class had nothing to do with you know who. Both views are a little bit rediculous but people believe what they will.
