It did look as though some players were feeling the pressure of little time between Sunday and Wednesday; and with a smallish squad, there are not too many options for rotation. Another draw away from home would be good if we were winning our home games, but it has been a struggle, in fact it is four games since we watched a home win. Following a promising start to the season under Turkish manager Erol Bulut, the Welsh outfit has struggled to keep up their promising run of the results, winning just two of their last nine matches across the Championship and FA Cup, leading to understandable frustration from sections of the fanbase. Cardiff have run out victors during their last two visits to Vicarage Road, winning 1-0 in December 2020 and 3-1 in April 2023. Watford have confirmed they have turned the season-long loan of Giorgi Chakvetadze into a permanent transfer. The Welsh side have secured the services of former Bristol City man Famara Diedhiou on loan from Granada for the remainder of the campaign.
