There needs to be a ruling from the refs on fouling the keeper (or not). Whatever they decide for goodness sake lets have consistency. I've no doubt that the same incident would be ruled differently in different matches. I think this has gone beyond just blocking off the keeper, I think they were backing into him today. For me it's a foul, but see why it's not given though.
Just put someone between Harrison and Vicario. Doesn't even have to be anyone big or defensive. He's running in, so just stand there.
looks that way. I guess it’s down to how “ready” Sarr is in terms of minutes played for his country, travel, etc.
I think if a foul was given it would have been very soft. I would have been fuming if it was given against us. As PNP said we need to get a player inbetween to negate this tactic as they will carry on doing this all second half
This has been happening for 3 games now and we haven't got a plan to counter it. At least 2/3 of those challenges should still be given as a foul - they would be anywhere else on the pitch - but we have left Vic exposed.
Both have been equally ineffective. More disappointed in the former though, as he is the more superior player. He has looked a shadow of the player we had at the start of last season.
as long as there’s consistency, I’m fine with it. But with the worst refereeing in premier league history at the moment, we know that won’t be the case.
I assume the line should be backing into the keeper vs standing your ground. There’s no obligation to clear the way for the keeper if he comes for the cross but you can’t move into him. Harrison looked like he did the latter but again you see those variously given and not.
Worst part about today is that I have the BT stream - so having to listen to bloody Joe Cole spouting his anti-Spurs ****
I mean, it’d be great if we could cause the goalkeeper problems in the box from our corners. However, it appears we still have “Eriksen first man syndrome” to recover from first.
Bentancur needs minutes so that’s probably why. Sarr not ready to get a lot of game time after the AFCON I guess.
