RTG is a complete utter cesspit, I understand the frustration but the toys are well and truly out of the pram.

So let's just say we sell Neil and Clarke in the summer, that's probably between 40-50 million to invest, we could be starting the season with a front 3 of Rusyn, Mundle, Ba with Adil to also rotate with. A middle 3 of Jobe, Styles and Ekwah. We also have Rigg forcing his way into contention as well. I think we have enough cover at the back.
This is all before we even invest anything in the summer and our loan players coming back with more experience.
Obviously it would be silly to leave Neil and Clarke out when we have them however I wouldn't be that upset at the line up I mentioned starting a game

    Good post mate.

None of us know the facts so, by default, I'll believe the club otherwise you have to assume they're liars.

I criticise the club, when I see fit, but often find my criticism was based on a misunderstanding.

I don't mind other people moaning, if it's reasonable, but don't like personal stuff either.

I don't like some of the pre-emptive criticism which I think is pointless ...

... 'if Beale starts without a striker there'll be hell on', 'if Stoke score first the atmosphere will be toxic', etc.

Neither things happened so that moaning was pointless and a little demoralising which is a shame.

I always believe, here or at the match, your mood affects those around you ... just my opinion.

Right I'm back. Couldn't stay away as long as I wanted. Pleased to see the last couple of pages at least are all sensible :D

Reflections on the window having slept on it

    • Firstly pleased we've not lost any of the big guns
    • I think Styles will be a good signing but disappointing he'll miss the first 2 games. He doesn't have long to prove himself.
    • Mundle I'm very very excited about. Probably too excited. But more or less all of our domestic signings from Speakman have been great. I know this kid has come from Belgium but I'm counting him as domestic. I think he's the Clarke replacement but will hopefully have plenty of impact this season (although it might be limited as we never seem to sub Clarke off)
    • Hjelde I'm not so sure about, although my point above stands for him as well. He's not exactly exciting, for me at least. And I've spoken to a Rotherham fan who doesn't rate him, although most seem to.
    • Disappointed we didn't sign a striker but at least now we just have three, thats fewer to give minutes to. Hope Beale now picks one as his main guy and sticks with them for a few games at least.
    • Great loans for Jewi, Mayenda and Triantis. A chance for all three to come back into first team picture next season
    • Matete I think we will never see again.

Main focus for summer for me has to be tying Rigg down professionally. I know he has his scholarship but that's worth very little as any Prem club can just offer him a pro deal and off he goes. As we've seen with Robertson going to Brighton, it can happen. The more minutes we can give Rigg between now and end of season, the better.

I was going to say we also need a striker in the summer, but hopefully Rusyn or Hemir have a good few months and we start thinking we don't need one...

We've managed to hold onto all of our first team players

We've signed someone who looks good enough to start in midfield (Styles)

We've signed some impressive young players who will give us some strength in depth and have very high potential

All of our young lads whose development is being hindered by lack of opportunities have been loaned to clubs at a good level for them to get first team experience

Seems like a very good window to me.

Enjoyed that mate, cheers. I don’t recall any previous links to Styles but we’ve obviously been tracking him on the quiet.

Played for Hungary in front of 60K so that’ll stand him in good stead. Quite excited to see how he does and how the whole team does in the rest of the season.

Unesco have listed Hurling as the oldest known sport I think. I read somewhere it is over 3000 years old and pre dates the celts. I loved my time watching and listening to some hurling tales.

Casement park was quite a venue. Loads of character and atmosphere. Been having a read today and it hasnt been open in 11 years which is sad. Sounds like they are trying to redevelop it.

Ok I'll do it.... If Styles is worth bringing in how come he was still in League 1 after playing in the Championship over a year ago?

    Sorry...someone had to :emoticon-0102-bigsm
