https://www.guestreservations.com/t...UY77Cwch97OYQmftzzHr7___L-YjfYicaAiKwEALw_wcB I stay there when I go to London, been twice now and got it for under £100 a night with breakfast and use of spa facilities and pool if you like that kinda stuff and it's 20 minutes to Leicester Square. London supposed to be expensive but Newquay pissing all over it.
Yeah accommodation down here is ****in ludicrous. Supply and demand innit. There are a few little gems around that don’t cost the earth, but you kind of need to be local to suss them out…which kind of defeats the point a bit. There are some bespoke built swanky houses going up, you know the kind of places with lots of chrome and glass. They sleep 8-10 people, but are being rented out for £7k-£8k per week in the summer !
Yeah I've got one made for vans, fits the back perfectly. I'll be teaming that up with my Egyptian cotton duvet and pillows lol Comfy af in the back of there.
I've got my Coffee pot and burner, so a nice fresh brew in the morning too. One nice little touch about that van, is that when I lay down, my leg is just long enough to reach up and turn that internal roof light off with my big toe lol
Something I've watched in the past, is people who go out to places and build their own shelter with the materials of the environment around them. There's one asian guy, he is so clever and knows his stuff, his tend to be in environments you wouldn't want to go without his knowledge. Some are more simple by people who just use trees and any available foliage, grass, moss. If only I was 21 again.
Yeah I watch a lot of that sort of stuff. Bushcraft skills. Been watching a channel by this chap in Wales, ex Marine who builds these fantastic shelters out of flat laid stone. He builds fire places into them and little rooms to trap the heat etc. Very clever stuff. His method isn't quick, but they are really interesting structures. The four basic principles of survival though, shelter, water fire and food can be really basic. As long as you get those right and they work, then you'll survive until you can build a better shelter, gather food further afield etc.
The one thing I picked up from all the guys is whatever you do, make a fire first, once you've found your spot.
