I find it hard to argue with the characters and quality we've brought in. Where we have had to settle for tight games this season I can see us making three or four attacking substitutions on 60 minutes and blowing sides away.
Pretty good transfer window especially when you compare it to the transfer window as a whole. Although Moore is a good player, I was actually a little surprised we got and went after him. It'll be interesting to see how he fits into our team. After watching Gallagher for Blackburn the other night I really understand why we were after him, he looked like a pretty much like for like replacement for Hirst whereas Moore is a bit different. As others have said only shame is we now have 5 loan players with 3 of our 4 signings being this transfer window being loans. We're pretty well covered in most areas although that doesn't mean if one of our big players gets injured we won't miss them. The only big area of concern for me is the full back positions. No one has flourished at RB this season and alot of our goals have come from that side. Also if we get an injury to Davis, we really don't have adequate cover, this would be a bigger shame particularly now we have Moore in the team.
Apparently we are after Dwight Gayle who is a free agent. Could also be handy backup, vastly experienced striker!!
Lee Evans released. He certainly did his bit in being a solid base in midfield for us to build upon. Thank you for your service Lee!
To be perfectly honest, he’s above Ball and Taylor in my estimation but it also comes down to stats and they will be monitoring all sorts of data to make these choices. Players like Evans were never recruited on the basis of the data they will have at their disposal now so it’s going to be hard for them to match up.
Think Evans is a very good player but doesn't really suit our style of play. Not intense enough, a big part of our play is about drawing the press and moving players around to find space, he's not that type of player, he doesn't draw the press bit of a more classy version of Skuse, I'm sure if he can get over his injuries will make a good signing for someone in this division or below.
I thought Evans was our best player in the 1st 2 months of last season. The injury was unfortunate but I would have rather released Ball or Aluko and see if Evans could get back to full fitness but I’m sure KMC and his coaching staff monitor everything and thought that this was the best way to go
I don’t think McKenna will want to go to Palace - if that went badly it could shorten his promising career.
The thing with McK moving to a Premier League club is that he will need to be given assurances that he will have time in the job. How he wants his team to play takes time to implement properly and as we all know, time is not something given to most managers in the top league. I'm also not sure that the intensity of the training sessions will go down well with some players, who probably think they've made it already by playing for a PL club. Our lads buy into it because they are all on an incredible journey up the leagues, not convinced you'll get the same effort from other players though. I'd like to think that Kieran is smarter than that. He knows he's at a good club, with good support. He's clearly at the forefront of leading the changes to the club, the training facilities, the culture etc. I honestly don't think he could get it much better anywhere else. The only thing that may be better if he switched teams would be his wages. It's obvious to me that we are financially stable enough to spend whatever cash is allowed to improve the team. If we were to get promoted, we'd have the clout to invest whatever the guidelines will let us. In a nutshell, Kieran has everything here to be a success, and will have the backing to be a success should we get promoted. Gonna take a hell of an offer to better that!
