So which signings in the summer were you happy with ? Because surely we have to judge the squad building for this season in it's entirety and not just the January window. Darlow Spence (loan) Rodon (loan) Byram Ampedu Kamara Gruev Piroe Anthony (loan)
Keeping hold of James, Rutter and Summerville. Kieffer Moore, Ipswich fans are so excited about a 31 year old striker that I see nothing in, give me Piroe over him any day. We could do with full back upgrades and we might have one, apart from that we don’t need any new attackers or midfielders. I do however wonder if we’re slightly close to ffp as some of the loans out whose contracts are expiring has left it feeling like the depth has vanished. Assuming the new RB signs, we’re going to end up with a bench who’d walk into most championship teams once everyone is fit
Someone posted a quick video on Twitter as they drove by moments ago, the floodlights are on. Picture opportunity?
Hopefully you understand why the question was asked because most fans agree that last summer we did good business in difficult circumstances. For me that means we can cut the club some slack this window given we're still in the promotion hunt.
Roberts in. I’d never heard of him two days ago but fans on Facebook reacting as if they’d followed his career for years
Don’t get me wrong and I hope he is another roberto Carlos but this thing of putting a player on a pedastal that couldn’t get in Burnley team at present is utterly ridiculous. Same as firpo thing. Because he once went to the boy camp for a holiday, expectations were through The roof. Every mistake was then slammed. Just saying stop over hyping new signings and give them a fair chance
I recall seeing Conor Roberts playing for Burnley last season and thinking we could do with a right back like him as he’s a lot better than Ayling. Obviously no world beater but a definite improvement in that position. Which realistically is all you can ask for tbf. Excellent signing.
Well we've reduced the costs quite a bit with all the outgoings, are we preparing for a second season in the championship ?.
Possibly but Im still of the opinion that having a half doze expensive players out on loan and unable to bring in any cash for any of them is seriously hampering us. Southampton and Leicester were able to get huge sales which takes the pressure off them considerably
Ger Lynch said twice that the owners wanted to overhaul the squad in the summer. I think this was the start of it
The worry for me is we will sell all the best players again if we don't go up,which means another rebuild nightmare.
This is my concern as well. When you look at Villa and Newcastle sniffing around Summerville. etc etc etc
