Isn't modern medicine unbelievable! We have two professional footballers who nearly died due to heart attacks that are still playing! Nearly died but they were able to fit pacemakers (not sure if that's what they are exactly but something was fitted) that not only keeps then alive but enables them to play sport professionally.
The missus has one fitted, it is called an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). Unlike a pacemaker which runs all the time it sits in the background and kicks in if the heart stops or goes out of rhythm and shocks it back into rhythm and if necessary acts as a pacemaker when needed. Very clever technology!
