I have been dipping into Wolves v Man Utd. Some of the final third passing is no better than you see at the Vic.
A bloody 96th minute penalty for South Korea sees the score in their Asian Cup quarter final against Australia 1-1, and sends the game into extra time. A bit in the mould of Watford, Australia can only blame themselves - they missed two glorious chances that I could have put away.
And they scored in extra time too - to win 2-1. South Koreans were impressive towards the end of normal time - but Australia really should have had the game wrapped up in normal time Such is football I suppose.
Friday night and it's Chateauroux time. Not known for their defensive ability, they score after five minutes, then try to defend the lead for the rest of the game. A distinctly poor to awful referee, and you just know that the cave will need a restocking before long. Five minutes before the end and they score again. Did I really need to suffer for a full 80 minutes? A minute into added time and the visitors from the Lot, realize that their journey has been fruitless, so concede a third goal for good measure. Turn over to see France v Ireland just as a French player is sent off. More wine required I think.
Sheffield Utd getting a real thrashing at home to Villa. Just shows once again the huge gulf that exists between the Championship and the EPL.
Yes - I'm rather glad we won't be going up this season. We simply don't have the players who could cope.
And beat them at home plus others in different relegation season ofcourse . They are doing much better than expected and not even in the bottom 3 now so doing something the other promoted sides have failed to do this season . Luton showing you don’t have to be silky skilled or spend millions to give it a go at least . Having a settled side and manager probably helps . Guess we will see if it lasts or just a purple patch ,
Warnock has said in the past he wanted to manage in Scotland. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68197268 Be his first time with VAR too - might have a lot to say!
I'll have to trawl through my laptop and find all the videos of Watford goals against Warnock sides and send them to my Aberdeen supporting friends. Starting with my favourite - the 6-1 win at the Dirty Weeds...
Soon be something else for refs to deal with. Cue endless debates about what is a “blue card “ and what isn’t.
