His jobs probably safe for another week as they've got Wolves at the weekend at the dump but after that who knows If he keeps playing Sideshow Bob at centre half he deserves the sack anyway the lads a mentalist.
Well, you would think so, but Abramovich still keeps swallowing. He's looking for the perfect manager and there's no such animal. Not even Jose was good enough!
Who would take the job if AVB were fired? If AVB were to lose his job at Chelsea his reputation would be through the floor and this is not the first manager to have them happen to them Ranieri went to Valencia (only due to his old ties with the club) before being sacked and re-building his career at Parma Avram Grant could only get a job at cash strapped Portsmouth and Big Phil... world cup winning Phil Scolari ended up at Bunyodkor - Yes..... I haven't a scooby who they are either. If I were an employed manager in one of europes top leagues I would not touch the Chelsea job with a ****ty stick
All joking aside (unusual I know) how mad would it be to sack a guy you've just spent millions to bring in before giving him a fair crack. If all Abramovich wants is success then why go down the route of bringing in a 33 year old. It would be madness I tell ya.
I don't see Abramovich sacking Villas-Boas - at least not yet - becuase he is too useful to him. In his business life Abamovich is an operator or else how could he survive the Russian political climate and still maintain control of his wealth? Therefore, he must be fully aware of the limitations of his ageing squad. However, he still likes to be liked and he will allow Villas-Boas to undertake the required surgery. If it is successful then Villas-Boas keeps his job - if not then Abramovich has his scapegoat. The real question is just how soon will the scalpel be applied? Villas-Boas needs to rid himself of Terry, lampard, Cole, Anelka and Drogba so that he can shape a squad that will play FOR him and not just under him. That is not going to be easy in itself and made doubly difficult by the cost and quality of the replacements. IF Villas-Boas can do that successfully then he stays.
The thing is, is that Chelsea also need to spend to replace them. OK they have Sturrage for Anelka, have spent £10m for Lukaku to replace Drogba and possbly McEachran for Lamps but they'll have to spend to replace Terry, spend to replace cole (Left backs are few and far between at the moment) and if you look at their team for the next few years, Malouda, Bosingwa & Ferreira all need replacing AND... What the hell has happened to Petr Cech? He has gone from one of the best keepers around to.... a bit of a liability ths term
Abramovich have more pressing matters: he is fighting a battle that can cost him fortune £2.5bn..that is not a chicken change for him.
If he puts out a strong team against us in the cup and we put out a young team and still get a result then that could be it!
Whose head are you calling for Villa-Boas or Abramovich...Abramovich is getting tired of Chelsea too.?
He might well be. This little venture has cost him hundreds of millions, and he's no closer to European success than he was when he started. And he's got other ventures he's interested in. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him linked to Formula 1 in the near future.
Or failure to reach the next round of the Champions League? I thought he brought AVB in to be the next SAF to be at Chelsea for the next 25+ years...I'm probably just making that up though.
