I know I am in the minority on this but I have come to believe what we have will get us through.

Maybe a subtle difference, but ths setup is important. In a 433 we probably have the likes of Rusyn and Mayenda who could be wide, alongside Roberts and Clarke. In a 4231 less so Mayenda but still Rusyn probably from the left. The club might see him as a 9, but I think he could step into the left if Clarke was suspended for example. Then we have the young lad Watson who isnt too far away in my opinion.

This is not a whinge at bringing in Mundle. Seems to me he is more likely the summer replacement for Clarke because we needed to do it nos, or miss out. Might well make an impact this season, from the bench. Come summer I would expect Watson and Mundle to be scrapping it out. Unless we are promoted and Clarke stays, in which case Watson would be loaned.

Yes, we don't have a pivot in the middle. Maybe Hemir will be that eventually, but not at the moment.

Even just a big bruiser who'll win headers and bash centre halves about would do with the players we could then set up around them. An outlet to get us directly up the pitch when we're under pressure.

Rusyn has played at LW plenty and Bennette is a LW. If Clarke wasn’t available Rusyn would go left.

Nobody has said we’re **** but as per you’re going on this wild “anyone who doesn’t act like everyone we sign is world class must be a mag” rant. Absolutely killing you to just admit we’re signing players because we see an opportunity rather than signing players who’ll improve us. Mundle could be a great talent don’t think anyone really knows but we’ve just done this with Bennette and loaned him out because he can’t get any game time so what makes Mundle any different?

The last sentence is spot on, need an outlet - i dont think it needs to necessarily be a big bruiser but we need a presence for sure. Has to be someone who gives CBs a hard time, either by being physical or by being able to occup defenders theoughout. We were so lucky with stewart as he could do both

It would give us a different option for sure. I dont want a Kevin Kyle (no offence Kev) but a Stewart style is a yes. In another words I want someone who is strong enough, but too clever to get into a muscle match. Someone who can secure it, but also run behind and stretch defences. Someone who has pace and a great first touch. Not asking for much am I? I would favour someone like Hardie from Plymouth over someone like Moore, for example.

no but the constant complaining about every signing coming is a nightmare and people
saying we don't need him when we don't have another LW ? club don't class rusyn as a winger the want him as a striker

and bennett has gone out on loan and club clearly don't think he's ready yet

rusyn has played more games upfront then LW in his career, it's all good being able to do a job, but the same people would be complaining if clarke got injured and we didn't have anyone to come in for him and it's not killing me at all

i'm just more open and more patient about what we are trying to do

the club have always been honest on the way the want the club to run

but people still lose the **** when ever the still
    do it

do we need abit more in the middle and upfront aye
but we also need another option on the LW
and it's also an option of bringing someone through who has the potential to replace clarke in the summer
ive never once mentioned anyone being a mag so wrong person you've got mate

I'd say that's just common knowledge, the club have been quite open about it ...

... I don't think anyone's declared Mundle class, just hoping he is as I'm sure you do.

If he turns out anything like Clarke, Ballard, etc, I'd say we're doing things right.

I get your point but to play devils advocate, you could argue that aouchiche, rusyn and mayenda are all most suited/experienced at playing on the wing

Yep,and it's our achilles heel at the minute,we're trying desperately to solve. We have physical,in Burstow and Hemir, but neither are mobile enough and we have mobile,in Rusyn, but he's not physical enough. Because of this is why our outlet balls are almost always wide. We could try playing two up top,I suppose,in a straight-forward 4-2-4. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

That's the sweet spot. My worry that a "big lump" will change the way we play if he isn't mobile.
Guess that's why strikers like Stewart are so hard to find

I think I may have said this before somewhere, but I've always thought Rusyn was bought as an alternative to Jack, cutting in from the left,if the latter was to leave.

When talking about whether we need more experienced players, no one has said, explicitly what we are trying to achieve THIS SEASON

If we could choose 6th without an experienced player, or 3rd with, what would we choose? Surely the model is about a few years of buying cheapish young players, peddling the chaff and developing the wheat until we have a squad that can compete in the Premier THEN buying a few key players. So the real benefit of a more experienced player HAS to be about developing the youngsters and nothing to do with league position

If we got promoted through the playoffs now, we'd got straight back down because I can't see KLD splashing the cash on the number/quality of players we need to stay up, because it doesn't fit the model. The extra cash including parachute payments would make this worthwhile, but there would be hell on with the fans (I'm not sure how they could manage the PR here because many fans wouldn't understand)

Anyway, this is a very long way of saying that we need TIME - 2/3/4 seasons - before a serious attempt on the PL. And EVERYTHING we do should be directed towards our best shot at staying in the PL in several years' time. I'm incredibly optimistic about the model, but I worry (particularly after the Mags and #BealeOut) that many fans don't understand and can derail it.
