Good Morning. It's Wednesday 31st January, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Cooper told to stay put amid Blackburn rumours

Liam Cooper will remain a Leeds Utd player, at least until the Summer when his present contract comes to an end, according to Phil Hay.

The news comes as the 32yo stalwart was linked with a move to Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday, following the £22m sale of Adam Wharton to Newcastle Utd. According to the Elland Road journalist, Cooper had been told earlier this month (when linked with Stoke) that the club had no intentions of letting him go!

Benson wants to stay at Turf Moor

Manuel Benson has decided to stay at Burnley for the rest of the season after his loan move to Southampton broke down yesterday.

The Saints were in the midst of tying up the deal for the versatile forward, when they heard that David Brooks was available, and immediately lost interest in him (Benson).

Having already been linked with a move to Elland Road earlier this month, media reports naturally picked up where they left off; but it seems Benson would rather stay at Turf Moor, even though he often fails to even make the bench!

Cherries turn down Leeds approach for Mepham

Bournemouth have turned down an approach from Leeds Utd for Welsh International Chis Mepham, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The no nonsense centre-back has only made three league starts for the Cherries all season, but with half their campaign remaining, have no intentions on letting him leave anytime soon.

Brentford set to rival Leeds for Welsh star

Brentford could pip Leeds to the signing of Connor Roberts, as the January transfer window draws to a close.

Unsurprisingly, with a miserable 'Whoscored' rating of just 6.01, Roberts has fallen way down the pecking order at Turf Moor this season.

Up until now, there has been little interest in the 28yo Welsh International, but with less than two days to go until the transfer window slams shut, clubs are becoming desperate to tie up loose ends.

A move to Elland Road would make more sense. He wouldn't have to move home, and is good friends with Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu!

West Ham set to keep Johnson

West Ham have decided to work through their differences with wantaway defender Ben Johnson, and offer him a new contract!

The former England U21 left-back was strongly linked with a move to Elland Road earlier this month, after falling out with the Hammers hierarchy over contract negotiations.

Media Reports now suggest the 24yo is now set to stay put in East London, much to the disappointment of Leeds fans.

Morning all. Don't think the transfer window will slam shut. More like it'll close very quietly with barely anyone even noticing

    Morning all

Hopefully we'll see players coming in during the next 36 hours or so or this window has been a write off of the worst kind.

Leeds have a history of leaving their business to the last minute, and then missing out. They also have a reputation of not learning by their mistakes.

You'd expect better decision making from a Millwall fan!

Am I missing something? If I am, please tell me...

As much as I love the excitement of Deadline day the transfer window is an appalling idea

Things were a lot easier when you could buy players all season long.

I wonder if player prices would be this inflated if we didn't have these windows and a mad dash to sign players in such a small amount of time?

    Good morning all.
Kind of relieved in a way, that were not going for any of the dross mentioned above, that is second rate players who can't get into lowly PL teams, so why would we want them if were truly aiming for the Top table.
Still a few hours to go everyone, so still time for that Messi type player to be signed up :emoticon-0102-bigsm
