    1. Man United P26 57 PTS
    2. Arsenal P26 53 PTS
    3. Man City P27 49 PTS
    4. Tottenham P26 47 PTS
    5. Chelsea P26 45 PTS

Right, it's coming up to the end of the season, and it's time to see how the race for the coveted premier league title is going.

United lead the way but Arsenal are very close behind. City are third but have playeed a game more. Tottenham and Chelsea are duking it out for fourth.

Chelsea were title favourites but when the squad suddenly realised "oh crap, we're old" they started doing terribly. In all seriousness, the selling of players such as Ballack is starting to come back to haunt them, and, forget the title, their place in the top four is under thread.

Tottenham have benefited from this. If they can fend off Chelsea, and get fourth once more, even better players would start to flock to their team. They'd do great (until Harry leaves for England, only to be sacked after four defeats in a row and replaced by Ian Holloway, who wins them the world cup).

City are four points behind Arsenal and eight behind United, having played a game more than the pair. Their title challenge is dwindling, and they are now the outside contenders, like Chelsea were in 08/09 when it was Liverpool vs Man U for 1st and 2nd.

Arsenal could really pack a punch, and now that United have finally lost, and Arsenal have beaten Barcelona, motivation should be sky high (as long as Wenger picks a proper team. Bloody Orient!). I would pick Arsenal for the league if I were a betting man, as they're run in is much better than United's, who still have to play a lot of big games away from home.

And that brings us on to United. They have looked shaky at certain points in the season, but they're top, and they're favourites. Can they hold on? We shall see.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    TOP FOUR BATTLE.

It's gonna be tight. You'd have to assume that United and Arsenal are quite safe for the top 4 (though that could change, remember Chelsea?), so it's:

    City
    Tottenham and
    Chelsea

who are going for it. Liverpool could potentially cause a suprise, but it's unlikely, as they're 8 points behind Tottenham having played a game more.

City look good for a top-four finish. Players such as Tevez and Silva have really come into their own this season.

So it's Tottenham or Chelsea. As an Arsenal fan, this leaves me with a dilemma. Arsenal and Spurs of course have a deep rivalry, but it would be hilarious to see Torres's "I left to play Champions league football" bite him in the arse. Yeah.

I think Spurs have the better team at the moment, players like Bale and Van Der Vaart playing well at key points.

So, this is my final table. What will yours be? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/predictor/default.stm

    1. Arsenal 85
    2. United 83
    3. Man City 74

Any more shocking that a Utd fan might think that Utd would win the league too?

Definitely less shocking given current positions, and the fact that the bookies, who spend millions on predicting the right outcome, have Utd as 2:1 on, whilst Arsenal are 2:1 against. But I guess we'll see in three months...

Not shocking for us, considering how well we're doing. Also I think the consensus is that Arsenal are still improving. But you're right - it's all pretty academic until the whistle goes on the final game of the season.

I think you are obsessive since you admit posting regularly on the Arsenal board.
