It's still your birthday and you would have an extra 8 hours to enjoy it if you lived out here on the Canadian West Coast. <cheers>

Didn’t watch last night due to an explayers reunion. A mate has just called me to watch Coventry's 2nd goal.
Nothing on here, anyone shed any light ?
    I'll check the highlights later.

Would have settled for a point before kick off, but it's slightly disappointing to lose a lead with 7 minutes to go having been behind.

Having seen the highlights, I don't think O'Leary did very well with either of their goals.

Wells was a bit fortunate how the ball fell for him too, but I'll take it every day of the week.

    Oh dear :
The first ......it's cross from 80feet high that he could/should have cleaned the lot out.

The 2nd..... he's an effing joke.

    Where's 1For and Ashton ?

Missed it last night but by the looks of the highlights we were a bit unlucky to to grab all 3 points.. Wells knows where the target is, needs to be used more IMO until a decent striker comes in.........Max could have done better with both Coventry's goals....

Harsh on Max for the 1st one, Dickie made a right mess of his header to be fair. No defence for the second one, simply not good enough.

Yes we can blame defenders but both Bell and Mehmeti had poor games too, far too many bad decisions

Not harsh at all. Dickie got his head to the ball under pressure, no blame. A proper keeper, bearing in mind how long was in the air for, would have cleaned the lot out.
As for the 2nd the defenders had sweet f a to do with the goal. Max had a clear view and totally fu**ed up.

Didn’t see the game was busy last night. Haven’t seen the goals yet either. By all accounts Max did a “Bents” for the 2nd goal, batted it straight to the attacker. Have to say Bents didn’t get half the criticism Max gets despite making the same error several times most games. Overall our issue is not defensive though, it’s that we don’t score enough. I’m not suggesting Max is a brilliant keeper, but overall he’s still in credit, and we have other areas in need of improvement first. We don’t create enough, how many assists and goals do our wide players produce, if we can improve our goal scoring whilst maintaining our defensive record we’ll be fine.

I like TC but how many has he scored this year, I believe Dickie is one of our top scorers, that just isn’t good enough

I can't remember who suggested Sports -10 to me on here but it looks like everyone who has used that site is happy with the feed. On the subject of Mehmeti I just don't think he is up for the task as he is usually the main culprit in giving the ball back to the opposition despite his running all over the place. He does remind me so much of Massengo who did exactly the same and despite our insistence in keeping him around he never really gave us value for money. Over the years we have held on to many players who were unable to bring what was on the box when they came to us and the time and wages wasted on such supposed talent has never given Bristol City any advance in our league status. I must confess I was hoping to see some players head out the door to help finance the rebuild that could take us further than before but as usual the powers that be are keeping tight lipped and an even tighter grip on the wallet.

I really can see how much better we have become across the entire pitch and sometimes our new style of play actually looks quite refreshing but unfortunately a lot of the undesired traits are still very evident. Poor decision making coupled with a complete lack of decent firepower in the final third of the field add up to the inability to put games away, especially late in the game. Max is more than competent when it comes to saves that look great on the highlight reel but then makes simple errors to blight his copybook. It would be interesting to see what percentage of a match we spend going back in to our own half because I reckon if we could cut 30% off that statistic and spent it down close to our opponents penalty area we may start to see slightly better results.

Maybe recently we haven't scored enough but two goals away from home to Cov in the form they are in is a reasonable return I would say. Agreed defensively City are decent but that isn't all down to Max by any stretch of imagination.

Sorry, I meant there was no defence of Max for his error.

Another major issue, which won't be so instantly solved with a new/different type of striker, is the service. Some of the crossing/corners/free-kicks have been abysmal this season - under both managers. Until we sort that out, it doesn't really matter who plays up front, we won't score goals. Our goal threat from midfield has dried up as well, Knight tries hard and is a busy player; however, his finishing and final ball are poor in and around the box, same for Memehti and Cornick - in fact pretty much all of our attacking players.

I’ve never suggested it is, he is an integral part of the defence though, a keeper can affect the defence terribly if they don’t have confidence in him. He more than plays his part in our good defensive record.
