West Brom ticket came today Can see me doing most of the league aways for the rest of the season after this weekend. Leicester only if we're in shout of catching them though and won't bother with Leeds.
Looks like Charlton are to get one of the best coaches in Europe. Enter Mr Jones. Another person of the wage bill soon.
Didn't we actually pay north of a million for him too? Wonder if he'll go on to have a career in football at all tbh. He's still only 19, but his mentality doesn't appear up to it.
Got to love the media team. This pops up when I went to watch the Rotherham preview: 404 Error Sorry mush, this page could not be found. Please try again, or come back later. Back to home page.
Sir Bobby, apparently not good enough for Pompey but a Saints hero for the last 48yrs and counting. I was standing right behind the line of that shot and although not hit with much force you could see it was heading right into the corner. With all the Utd internationals and Saints having Channon and Osgood, there was something of the romance of the FA Cup about him scoring the only goal of the game. Outside of Southampton and Pompey hardly anyone had even heard of him. Not being able to drive his match winner's prize of a new car and still living at home with his parents, he was the antithesis of the modern footballer even back then. He cut a sad figure after his playing days were over and died aged 44. A real shame. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...-final-southampton-bobby-stokes-a7596371.html
Such a tragic story, so sad. He really wasn’t cut out for anything apart from being a footballer. Thanks for digging that out IOAG.
His form before the final was pants as well. Just as well LMac knew what he was doing. Obviously goes without saying it was a brilliant run to the final & a big thank you to Hughie Fisher!
Andrew Surman is leaving his coaching role at Bournemouth, in order to join, ahem, EFL Championship side Southampton, as their new u18s coach, starting on Monday. Good lad.
They need something, got walloped 6 - 3 by Spurs after being 3 - 2 up! https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/ma...pur-u18-english-u18-premier-league-2024-02-02
This makes me very happy. Drew had to leave the club against his will during administration, and it's lovely he has found his way back here again.
From memory he’s a Saints fan and wanted to stay to help us get back up. But he realised the club needed money more than anything else at that point and so him being sold was best for the club. So he reluctantly went? That’s my memory of it anyway, not sure how much is true.
Yeah, was really really upset too about leaving at the time, I think we still went down that season too. But the money was enough at least to last a take over, that's how what I remember... could be talking bolloxks tho, it's been a while.
