Come on Levrkusen! Come on Dortmund! Come on Valencia! Come on Napoli and finally come on Basel! Anyhow, looking at our own team...who has been impressed with our improved away record? Earlier in the season I thought it was going to be the same old story after Stoke and Spurs. Only thing we need to do now is improve our home record albeit we are unbeaten. I'm really looking forward to December, not because I think it will be easy but because these type of fixtures are always the "real" test of where we are. I feel pretty good this week so far (thought I would let you al know), just hope there are many more to come!
Feeling good, living better Zingy good to hear! The run in we do have though is a very winnable one though so hopefully things will be better than that are now.
Out of the Chelsea and City game I only wanted a win vs Chelsea as it was basically a 6 pointer. City will always be up there at the top so if we lose it wouldn't make too much of a difference to our campaign, whereas if we lost to Chelsea and beat City the table wouldn't be in our favor as much. But now we have been guaranteed 3 points out of the two games I am really looking forward to this weekend.
Wouldn't this make the PL even more difficult for us? personally i want the PL teams in the CL as long as possible, we all know its difficult to retain good PL form when you've got difficult CL matches midweek.
It did cross my mind, but they're not all going to fail to qualify. For Manure and City I think they will get top 4 anyway so if they got knocked out of the CL it would be great for a laugh. If City and Utd beat our rivals and knock them back for the rest of the season I would be happy if it meant we got top 4...just as long as Utd don't win the league.
City will get knocked out and won't be arsed with the EL. United won't. Both of those work in our favour
More amusingly, Citeh will get knocked into the Europa League and have to field teams on long journeys to Russia. It'll be a distraction, just as it is for the Spuds. I'd just like to be a fly on the wall when Bobby Mancini works that one out...
Yes, but unless the manager decides not to accompany his team, and assuming that none of the second string would ever feature for the first XI, it'll remain an annoyance and a distraction...
city has no second string side. anyhow europa would be a big distraction. would be fun to see man-u and man-c in europa!
I know what you mean. They do really have two first teams, but the PL will be their priority. With respect to the mancs, I think they'll get through to the knockout stage. If they get knocked out then, do they still go into the EL or not? I can't remember.
No its only from the group stages that you go into EL. As far as them both going through with City its out of their hands,Napoli's result has to go in their favour and City MUST win any other result would see them go out regardless of what napoli do.
Surely we need English teams to continue to do well in Europe in order to keep the PL co-efficient high and keep up the number of places we get?
Well, they don't have to win the bloody thing- but if PL clubs do well generally then we'll keep our four CL places and that will benefit us if and when we get back in the running.
