Rarmani Edwards-Green signs from Uddersfield for 2.5 years. Said to be a versatile defender. Anyone know anything abahrt him? Apples seems to have had a lot of input into the signing.
All I know is he’s originally from Peckham so it’s a move closer to his roots- hopefully he’s an upgrade to our current shower of ****e
.......and CB-T, as expected, is off to Derby. I expect we'll be playing 3-5-2 now, which should mean, hopefully, that Alfie gets a strike partner.
I'd say he's been improving while he's been with us, and the stats show it in terms of goals and assists. Lets hope the team can adapt to the new set-up with new players. This window could turn out better than expected, with the caveat that I didn't expect much, if anything.
Selling Blackett-Taylor will pay towards the incomings. I would still have preferred to keep him, he was one of our better players. Too many people spunking over the new arrivals, hopefully they are better than the s*** brought in previously.
The season is over. Charlton are not going to suddenly transform from fewer than 1.2 points per game on average to over 2 per game. That's what would be required even to compete for 6th place now. Freddie Ladapo is a decent player. Why didn't we get him in the Summer when the gap to 6th place was zero points, not nineteen. And Ladapo won't be helping us to build in the long term as he's only on loan. I'm sure the Apologists are whipping their cream though. Doesn't take much to please them.
As a positive, hopefully the incoming perms will work out and we can build for next season. I bet they have a clause reading "in the event of relegation".
Two decent signings today. Both played at higher levels and neither are past-it and I think both will improve the team. Much better than always signing players from below our level and hoping that they will step up. I’m more hopeful that we will avoid a relegation scrap now, but as to whether we are building towards a promotion push next season is too early to say. However if we finish this season lower than we did last season, it must surely go down as a massive failure by the new SMT and I think that is highly likely. Just shows how woeful their signings have been in the previous two windows.
It can't get much worse. One win in our last 11 games. One win from our next 11 and we'll be in the bottom four. Next 11 games: (teams currently above us in red) 4 at the Valley, 7 away. Burton (19th) A Northampton (9th) H Blackpool (8th) A Derby (3rd) H Reading (21st) A Lincoln (12th) H Bolton (4th) A Portsmouth (1st) H Derby (3rd) A Northampton (9th) A Cheltenham (22nd) A 8 games against teams in the top 12. All 3 games against struggling teams are away. We have one away win so far this season. Charlton's wins against teams above us in the table so far? None. We beat Leyton Orient on the opening day of the season, but they were not above us in the table at the time. They are now though - by three places and 5 points.
Such perfect timing with our two fixtures against them coming up. £300,000 loan deal with a permanent to follow in the summer. https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/char...corey-blackett-taylor-switch-to-derby-county/ Still, maybe he’ll be unavailable with that minor injury.
Be interesting to see how we manage the rest of the transfer window with no manager. Unless they were working on it since sunday, which I doubt.
I would pull the plug on Scott bringing in more players, hopefully with a decent manager he can turn things around with what we have. Get rid of Scott then focus on the other two.
So no more transfer rumours? Are we going to hold onto Dobbo after all? Only about 60 hours of the window left...
They’ll hold out with the new manager signing till after the window and then use that as an excuse for not getting any more in
Apparently Nathan Jones is a done deal - maybe it is and maybe it isn’t ? I’m just getting a bit pissed off with the all the bloody drama surrounding our shambolic bloody club
