True but Farke lost almost an entire team before kicking a ball

True mate, it will be an achievement to make the playoffs considering the state we were in.

He did. And he's done well to get us where we are so far.

Suppose I should add that this is another window where he can have an impact. He has to be responsible for any outcome, be it success or failure.

Replay is Tuesday night after playing Bristol City next Friday, then Rotherham at home the following Saturday.

    Not too bad then.

Out of contract in the summer so surely has played his last game for us.

That's a speculaitive opinion rather than news though <laugh>

If we do make it through and it's Chelsea, it would have to be the Wednesday night given they play the League Cup final the Sunday before the FA Cup games. We've got the early Saturday ko against Huddersfield after that so would be far from ideal.

What's the verdict on Piroe playing as a nine yesterday ?

From the Jamster's perspective he certainly played the first half up top by himself and although he made some great runs the pace is just not there to hurt teams. That doesn't mean he can't play the posiiton but we'd need to adapt our game so we pass to his feet otherwise we're not giving him the best chance to shine.

Conclusion from me though is Paddy's better at leading the line.

He's out of contract in the summer I think.

If we see him play again, I doubt it will be for Leeds.

Yep he's not electric but certainly has enough to get on the end of things, plus it also helps with closing down the opposition defenders and keeper.

Piroe is a snail in comparision.

I don't think Piroe did too much wrong. As you say, his movement was there but the service wasn't. That might have been due to the absence of Jimmy and James on the wings. His hold up play was neat at times too. Paddy came on and had two good chances to score the winner.

It could be as easy as Piroe being the better finisher but Paddy creating more chances for himself but missing more.

If its purely on goalscoring ability I'd go with Piroe. On workrate and creating space then it's Paddy.

The other thing is that Piroe seems more consistent in his scoring than Paddy, who seems to go on little spurts of goals and then long droughts.

Which is why we need to play to his strengths rather than asking him to run himself into the ground chasing balls up top he's simply not going to get on the end of.

Farke knows and sees all of this.

Anyone remember when we signed Billy Sharpe, who's scored goals for fun all his career, but we stuck him up top and he was completely useless because he doesn't have the pace for that position.

Piroe is similar but at least Farke is trying to find the solution and so far with 10 goals it's not too bad.
