I just leave it for days now. It's just soul destroying.

If I'm driving and it comes on the radio where they're discussing it I switch over to Talksport. Rather listen to ABU pundits talking about how **** we are.

The only logical conclusion to the war in Ukraine at this stage is just allowing Russia to annex the 18% of land they've managed to hold and have a term and condition within the peace talks that acknowledges, without any doubts whatsoever, the current Ukrainian borders are Ukraine without any areas of dispute.

That people who wish to be Russian will have to MOVE to Russia and not simply complain and rebel.

That goes vice versa, the people in Donetsk, Crimea etc, will need to move to Ukraine to be Ukrainian.

Ukraine is massive, the lands Russia has managed to grab were mostly disputed lands since 2018.

Russia have probably learnt a very valuable lesson in not getting involved in foreign politcs, which is the elephant in the room when it comes to the Ukrainian conflict.

They were genuinely convinced by Ukrainian opposition that entering the nation and occupying Kiev would be an easy event, the documents are available, Russia has been meddling in Ukrainian politics for YEARS trying to gain a foothold there.

Viktor Yanukovych is the key figure who invited Putin directly into Ukrainian politics and played Putin like a ****ing fiddle, asking for more and more money all the while taking more and more chances with the EU. It wasn't until Yanukovych's corruption became so apparent that the Ukrainian people rebelled and he again- begged Putin for an out. All this ****, caused by one corrupt mong, has dragged Russia into a conflict that has cost them hundreds of billions, with almost no gain and turned the nation into international pariahs.

The only goal of Vladimir Putin in all this was 100% to invade Ukraine, kill Zelenskyy and place Yanukovych back in as Ukrainian President.

No chance of having him settle for the Crimea bit they got in 2014?

Also where does that leave Ukraine with joining NATO afterwards?

I think before the official annexation ceremony in Moscow, yes, they would have settled for Ukrainian acknowledgement of Crimea. But Putin has made a big show of especially Donetsk joining Russia that they will never accept it becoming Ukrainian again.

The issue with Crimea is it is absolutely vital for Russia and Ukraine has made it apparent that they want it back no matter what. So it's really the massive red mark whenever negotiations start.

One side is going to have to cave and as of right now, we are in deep stalement territory for this conflict, I don't see a sudden surge of victories for either about to happen and neither can any analysts far as I can see.

If Ukraine leaves these lands and takes acceptance of it's current borders from the Russians then they would be able to join NATO, Putin has never ever publicly stated that his issue with Ukraine is they're about to join NATO, it's because Ukraine are a Nazi regime, blah blah.

Putin's real issue with Zelenskyy is the fact the man is the first Ukrainian President that isn't an oligarch. The Oligarchs are easy to control and manipulate and Putin did not like the Zelenskyy election, Poroshenko was far easier to control.

Like I said in my previous post though, the oligarchs of Ukraine manipulated Russian involvement in their politics, they tricked Putin into believing the Russian Federation was popular in Ukraine. I believe privately the biggest regret of Putins career is this invasion, he will know its been a ****ing disaster.

The big problem for Ukraine imo is the continued funding and armoury they need to keep this going.

And if Trump gets in, I think Zelenskyy's in serious trouble.

Appreciate the detail in terms of what the drivers are here. I only know what I see in the news. Personally it would be obscene for Putin to get to keep any territory they've captured since 2022. Just fcking wrong.

I can't tell you what Trump thinks about anything tbph mate. Trump is a salesman, he says whatever he wants to whatever crowd and it gets them going, it works, but Trump in power and Trump on campaign were two different things entirely.

If Russia face some form of internal collapse, we might see something happen, but people there are terrified. That's the problem, fear. Extreme fear.

There's plenty of people who have moved away from Russia and can now talk freely who express how family back home are absolutely terrified of what they say on the phone. There's people getting 10 years in prison for some facebook posts.

Aber would have life by now <laugh>

I’ve finally put my bet on for this and I’ve gone left field. I’ve stuck 100 on Michelle Obama at 10/1 so I’ll get a grand back. Biden won’t beat Trump. She might. I reckon if she does stand, she’ll have a 50/50 chance of defeating Biden.

Long shot but I’m happy enough with it.

pfft, New Hampshire primary has shown the independents won't vote for him, forget the polls, they have proven to be utterly useless. Yeah, the republicans have a small majority in congress, the democrats in the senate (despite the polls showing the republicans should've absolutely trounced the democrats in both mid-terms) but nearly all of his chosen nominees for congress were beaten.
