A man of Pinkies knowledge also knows a shed isn't a great place to keep wine, too much variation in temperature but he's going to ignore this so he can just go around there to get his toolbox out.

Banging head. Need water. Checked notifications and looks like I wasn’t at my most polite on my teams board yesterday. Oh well.

That said, I'm not sure how you could make tax returns interesting

Should get a free Mars Bar or summin for filling it out.

Can't find it now but it's anticipated 500,000 people will be late with their return, with a minimum fine of £100, that's an extra £50m in their coffers.

I’ll try to keep this short…a few years ago there was some cock up over my company car allowance and as result I got a tax return to fill in for the following couple of years, even though I am PAYE.
Anyways, said form dropped through the door, was duly filled in and returned all within about a week. Several weeks later I got a £100 fine for late return of the form, even though I didn’t receive it until after the 31st January and as said, returned it promptly. When I rung the tax office and explained, they basically said “tough ****” and you’re lucky we aren’t charging you interest on the fine!
When I then said I would appeal it, she said, as a summary, good luck with that, we’re the tax office and can do what we like!

They really are a bunch of ****ers. I did the year end PAYE forms a number of years back , they were paper copies of the staff P60's then, you used to have to split them up one was yellow and one was white, so you used to have to put the colours together and post them together. About 2weeks after posting them I got one letter back with all the yellows in saying I hadn't sent the White's and another letter with the whites in, saying I hadn't sent the yellows, 2 days later I got a letter with a £100 fine for late return. Phoned them explained the situation and the lady said no problem she'd cancel the fine.
About 2 weeks later I got another fine, phoned them again, was told this time I'd have to put it in wtitting, which I did, then got a letter basically saying I was a liar and what I said happened couldn't have happened, so I appealed again, sending them a copy of both letters, which they said it proves nothing other that I didn't send the forms back correctly, and the fine stood. Bunch of ****s

    Top tip
get full name or staff number and make note of time of any call as i think they record all of them like the DWP . Then you can just tell them to check the recording .
