    Give it a rest, Lidls.
He's acting like a child, as usual.
He's clearly not prepared to discuss his business, as this proves.

  2. To be fair, though, Little Luke, none of us were ever under it. I don't believe that any of us Spurs fans are annoyed by Fergie's latest brattish antics, more like amused by them.

    To be fair.

It's the SKY money that's allowed him to spend so much money to keep United on top. I'd be more grateful if I were him.

Quite true and the question was a fair enough assessment of how Utd have done in Europe this year.

I think that in the age we live in press conferences ARE part of the job. TV money and the income generated by being a global super-brand (which requires publicity and media-profile almost as much as a winning team) are what keep Man Utd ticking.

  6. Gordon Strachan - another highly-strung Scot - used to get fed up with some journo questions, and he was prone to give many a sarcastic answer, but I never heard of him storming out of a conference.

Shame on Fergie! He ought to have more discipline than that.

But there are lots of intelligent ways of answering the perfectly reasonable question that was put to him that do not involve criticising his players.

  10. I take it you are a United fan?

No one else would seek to justify Fergie's childish antics.

  12. The difference between Harry's blast at that journo and Fergie throwing his toys out of the pram is that the former was a personal sleight on the man, whereas the latter was a childish reaction to someone telling him the truth and not bringing it down to a personal level.

Ferguson has always been a bad loser, always has an excuse when he loses and patronises clubs when he beats them. Whinger.... Dalglish.... Benitez all have similar traits.

Harry says it how it is, he gives an honest opinion win lose or draw. BMJ is the same.

In Utd's case the word struggle is relative isn't it? They've won two matches and drawn 3 but one of their wins was by two penalties. There are three teams which are very close so one has to say that the other two also are struggling if Utd are struggling. Maybe Utd are not as effective as usual and are drawing with teams which they might ordinarily have beaten but I don't see them as struggling at all. No need to walk out though. Maybe he was frustrated at yet another draw.

By your response Luke I take it that you are a Man U supporter. For those who consider Utd struggling on 9 points then are Benfica struggling on 9 points too? I think not.

He said struggling when referring to both Manchester sides Lidls and I'd say that it's not too far wide of the mark.
City are virtually out and Utd look likely to finish 2nd in a very weak group, though a loss in the last game would see them go out.

Well having read all this my take now is, I wonder what team the journo supports!, he was taking this piss a bit. Had he said "the only team you've beat, is one I can't pronounce, and on paper it was/is an easy group, how do you like them apples" we may have seen him headbutt the hack. :)

Really? ManU are potential winners and one of the favourites - Benfica are not. The fact that Utd have to get a result in their last game to get through to the knockout stage means they are struggling surely. Only Utd fans would argue that way, so Luke I understand, you I do not.

Yes, but a least Mancini acts with dignity in victory or defeat unlike that T*** Fergie!

He stupidly claimed you'd win against Bayern earlier...disrespectful, no dignity there, and hideously wrong!
