I'm not on either side of the Beale in or out, the way I see it is the club have seen something in him and he is now part of the club. I've watched players I didn't rate, managers I didn't like. Beale has yet to convince me but today was a step in the right direction. So instead of pointing fingers between ourselves, let's just enjoy the result and hope it's the first of many
I’m not going to watch the post match interview. Better performance today and very happy with the result, don’t want to watch him say something stupid to spoil things
Back home in the warm and caught up on the thread. That all seemed too easy, not being able to hear was bloody horrible at the game, it sounded like no one was there. Thought we looked a lot more balanced today and to me we moved the ball an awful lot quicker and more direct. Defence looked solid as a unit and under pressure. Think everyone will be pleased tonight
My thoughts exactly mate, in fairness to him. I thought Stoke were poor in front of goal and could have punished us, but the pleasing thing about today was we looked different. It wasn't just get it out to Clarke although he did have a lot of the ball, however more times than not he went on the outside rather than cutting in. I thought Ba gave us a more balanced side, thought we moved the ball quicker. I've been critical of Beale for continuing with the predictable set up and game plan so I have to give him credit for today. What I would like to see now and moving forward is change our still slightly depending on who we are playing. I've thought for a while we play better against teams that come at us and struggle against teams that sit in, if Beale can sort ways of beating the different types of teams in this league he may do ok here. There will be some fans who will never accept him no matter what he does, but I'm quite open to the fact he might actually improve us even if I've been critical of him since he came in, but in fairness that was down to what I was seeing on the pitch
I missed it mate unfortunately. I was up all night with me dog. Thought she was a gonner . Fell asleep just before the match, woke up towards the end of the first half but nodded back off. Feel like shìt and needed that result to cheer me up a bit
Very decent performance today. Pleased for the players management team and of course us as supporters. Thought Ba played really well along with seelt Clarke and others. Seemed to get the ball forward quicker even patto going long and one fantastic kick to Clarke 2nd half. Good to see confidence growing in the players. Finally well done to the crowd today behind the players from the start no dissent towards the coach. A canny Saturday all in might even have a large malt to celebrate.
As one of the posters who's been accused of posting negative bile. Is this how the forum is going to be from now on? After every win, digs at anyone who has been or deemed to be negative?
I saw him do that to man utd last season, hes exactly the type of winger i love seeing. Theres no fancy tricks with him, he has that explosive pace balance n agility that just beats opponents He holds onto the ball too long at times, probably too easy for him at youth level so he def needs ti improve in this area at senior level
That's interesting mate. I looked at the stats and we're getting less possession and passes. Are we going more direct and how do we compare to pre Beale?
It seemed we went a bit longer ball, which I have been hoping for. Curious what others felt. It certainly seemed more "direct"
Hopefully Beale mixes it up and gets the right balance. I wasn't a fan of always playing from the back under poyet.
Yeah will need to be mixed up definitely. Stoke had their moments to be honest. But I thought 1-1 per man, we were superior.
Funny coincidence but I've had a look back the first game is Boro at home - probably our worst under Mowbray Game 6 - Mowbray left Game 9 - Beale's first game
Fair play today. Thought the lads were excellent and the change up really made a difference. Good win.
There's been a handful of comments mate, unlike the Tsunami of digs after a loss. You obviously can't see it, perhaps because you choose not to, but its there. I usually avoid the place after a loss and so do other people ... ... it's like people want to spell out why you were wrong to hope for the best.
