Yeah….something isn’t quite right or doesn’t feel quite right. It might just be me looking for reasons other than Klopp just being knackered though……time will tell but if it transpires that FSG are the cause of this, the fans will never forgive them.
Well, if we take it at face value, both Pep and the other guy want to be "proper" managers and if they're not getting the Liverpool job, then this would be a good time to make the jump. Schmadtke leaving isn't really a great surprise.
I can't see how they'd have kept it quiet until now if we had made any enquiries for the likes of Xabi or De Zerbi - although you never know because generally they've been pretty good at doing stuff on the quiet in this day and age. Unless the new manager is free now, I can't see them wanting to disrupt their current season just yet with any announcements. I have to say that I was completely chilled about this season and wasn't too worried about being trophyless this season, because it felt - and still does feel - like we're building something big. But now I'm revved up with us looking to end Klopp's era on a high.
do you honestly need to go down the rabbit hole guys? klopp has said he is tired. we can all see he is tired. I'd rather not break the man thanks very much. let's just be happy for him take what he said on face value. I'd also advise not prejudicing fsg or thinking they have no plan at all when they've had 3 months on this already. this is the value of the asset stuff they paid klopp massively for a manager knowing what's needed to have this shiny asset value and will go get a manager
Why would fsg be the cause? Klopp said he’s knackered and wants a year break. that’s the stresses and strains of being manager which is a 24/7 365 job. He was going to have a break after Dortmund but we tempted him out of that. Feel like there’s no need to try and look for random hidden meanings in things because 1, you’ll never be able to prove if it’s true or not, 2, why not take klopps statement at face value.
They've known since November, Klopp stated that in his interview. As ever, I wouldn't believe anything in the media until it's a done deal.
Seeing as he was only supposed to be doing a year anyway, this is not an announcement. In fact he's set to leave on 1st Feb and always was Mid-season most managers (we'd want) wont be talking to other clubs anyway, not while their current club still has things to play for. I imagine FSG have a list of managers to approach, but wont be doing anything until closer to the summer. I would hope a successor is announce before Klopp leaves though, no dead space as we don't have time for dormant period.
Discussing things isn't going down a rabbit hole necessarily - it just depends how far you go into looking for deeper meanings and how wildly speculative you become. The only thing I find slightly surprising is that I believe Klopp to be a straight and honourable bloke and I did expect him to see out his contract for that reason. However, I accept that the pressure just might have got to him. I'm certainly not going down the "FSG have done something terrible" route again.
he's given his reasons and wants to give his all but can't give any more. I'm happy for him as you can see him aging before us. if we love him we should want him to be happy and well
I can see a scenario where we could approach another manager with the consent of his club and all parties agree to sit on it until the end of the season so as not to disturb their own team, but it's just guesswork - we'll find out eventually I suppose.
I'm not sure why you're attempting to shut down any discussion on the matter. You don't have to contribute if you don't want to, but I'm sure others will continue to express their opinions on it.
Some of the crying on social media is ****ing embarrassing. We've got the rest of the season to enjoy a legendary manager and hopefully more trophies to celebrate at the end of it.
A whole day later and I still can't find the words. On the positive side, it's the first time in years that nobody's bothered about transfers
nobody. there's nobody from the inside left nor are any of them suitable. what you ought to be asking is who.might the next souness be. the actual facts here are fsg have had their big error with Rodger sand went out and got the absolute best they could. people should be asking if they will appoint a technical director first or just leave it to Gordon and hogan to get it right. this decision affects their net worth and its more than worth a 50 investment if they have to pay a release or whatever they need to.
