Sure, I just mean people thought "if it doesn't work we can just sell him back to Turkey and get our money back". It's never that simple/easy.
There'll be demand for Omur, they love a has been. Sinik has never 'been' hence the struggle to offload.
A few things I noticed in particular from his showreel… 1 - He can go either way. Lokilo cuts inside 9 times out of 10 2 - He has an end product, a lot of showreels cut off after they go past a player. He played some superb through balls on top of his finishing. The biggest plus point he always made the right choice
Sorry, it seems many of very short memories on here. When Philo was fit, we were all saying how much better we looked with Lokilko on the right. Even vs Sunderland in the last game, he did a similar job to Doc, protecting his full back. He offered zero going forward, but protected Jacob, in a tricky away debut. I certainly think he can do a job in the squad
Not sure Christie has been fully fit at all since Philo has been here. Even when he was playing, he and Coyle shared that berth. **** modern statisticians, Us from ‘ull love a Venn diagram, this is crying out for one.
Glad you’ve said that. I was recalling that’s what many had said regarding Lokilo but couldn’t be bothered to check.
Lokilo def looked better when Jaden was playing. I wonder if it’s because the team has more balance with 2 wingers, or if it’s because opposition concentrated more on keeping Philogene quiet.
I don’t know, but he didn’t look out of place up there with Philo, Delap, Connolly, and if we played Ozan or Traore on the right, this board was kicking off. I suspect it was before he and Philo were injured at similar times?
There was a brief cameo as a sub this season ( no idea why we were short?) after which many were calling Rosenior clueless for not playing him,
Ok. My only recall is that he showed some nice touches, but then an opportunity to have a pop at Rosenior when he didnt include him the following game
He showed impressive discipline working back and also providing width at Sunderland. I agree he could do a squad job for the rest of the season, but if a move benefits him then I wouldn't be too concerned letting him go - as long as there's better coming in.
He’s now well versed in our ethos and understands what would be expected of him in various positions/scenarios. As you say, he can do a squad job, so why change for the sake of it when the rest of the squad is massively renovating? You have watched and played sport for many years and understand the value of consistency/stability in a team/ squad. In the midst of massive change, I feel it’s important we keep some consistency where it doesn’t particularly impact on progress
