afternoon all.. first time poster here (long time lurker) ..been a member of the "other website" but ive decided to join up here...so to all....... lot of debate recently about who is going to finish where in the league and i must say im pretty happy we are right in the mix...but my question is....can this spurs team actually go all the way ? there are something like 8 wins outta nine or something like that ..and the they are playing the best football in the premiership..... i think scott parker is a superb signing , and maybe we should have looked at signing him. and also what are you thought about us qualifying for the champs league ??? if we dont start scoring more goals , that might cost us in the long run....
Hi and welcome to the forum. No, I don't think Spurs have the staying power to go all the way. Don't forget, they were dicked by both of the teams currently above them, and 'Arry ahs got a lot of answering to the police to do. So no, they'll fade away after Christmas, in my opinion. As for us, yep - we need to start scoring more goals, especially when we're only one up. Kenny needs to sort this in January.
It is impossible at the moment to predict what will happen, the race between 3rd and 7th looks to be as exciting as it has ever been! Great scenario for the neutral fan but for me it is worrying. At the moment everyone else is ruling Liverpool out, I hope it stays that way for now...stay under the radar and all that which could change if we beat City on Sunday.
It is always better to be underdog or the dark horse....no pressure. Before, united overturned 14 points to beat Newcastle to the title. The 14 points was in the second half of the season. All I know is that no won has won the league in December before.
How long do you want to stay under the radar for? another 20 years. Winning the PL is about handling the pressure and if we cant then we don't deserve to be in the top 4.
Welcome to the madhouse (check out the banter thread ) I'm with Jonesey on this. I can't believe that the spuds will retain their current form indefinitely. We do need to start =converting the myriad of chances we've been creating and NOT KEEP SITTING BACK WHEN 1 UP.
The answer to both questions has to be yes. Will it happen - who knows. Of the two I believe it is more likely that we will qualify for Europe. However my opinion of this United squad has not changed one iota since the start of the season - pourous midfield and over-hyped defence. hence i can see things getting harder and harder for United as the season progresses. Spurs themselves are playing well. They haven't yet hit their bad patch. How they cope then will determine if they can overtake United. As others have said, it's up for grabs from 1-7 at the moment. But nobody ever won the title before Christmas so I'll keep praying that our chances turn into goals and our miserly defence keeps operating. If so, then we will truly be in the mix.
