It's been hit and miss, depends on the salary I guess.

    Zlatan - hit
Cavani - hit (in my opinion)
    Larssen - hit
Ronaldo- hit, until Morgan got involved anyway.
    Ihgalo - miss
    Weghorst - miss

If it was till end of season only, Benzema would be a great temporary addition.

I don’t believe we have a striker problem though. So what value would Benzema bring to a dysfunctional midfield?

    That's just ratshit mate, tbh.

We have one striker. One. And he's 20 years old and should not be expected to be the sole centre forward at a club like United, or be expected to be fit for every game.

    I genuinely don't know what you're watching.

Indeed, was reading Cytrax's post and as a non United fan I didnt want to be the first to say it, but isnt Hojlund pretty much your only out and out striker?
How can he say you dont have a striker problem? Yes your midfield is dysfunctional, but both things can be true.
Only Burnley and Palace have scored fewer league goals than United, and they are 19th and 15th.

I know what I am talking about, because Chelsea were exactly the same last season. Couldnt score for toffee. I wouldnt exactly say that we have remedied the situation completely, but its getting better, slowly.

Arsenal have a striker problem , Spurs have a striker problem, Chelsea have a striker problem, Man United have a striker problem.

Thats why Ollie Watkins, Ivan Toney, Dominic Solanke and Alexander Isak are all being priced at £100m+ when they are worth half that, because their clubs know that the big boys are gonna be descending on them in the summer to ransack them of their strikers and they are inflating their prices pre emptively.

So do you think buying any of those players will solve our lack of goals problem?

There is no evidence that any out and out striker wouldn’t struggle under our current setup. We had Ronaldo FFS!! So we are going to try Benzema because he offers something different?

Ultimately, strikers don’t score goals out of thin air. They need an absolute functional midfield to be effective. If the midfield is ineffective, the agile ones drop back to help when then results in lesser number of goals. Hence my stance that simply bringing in yet another striker, 36 year old one for that matter, into the fold is not a logical fix to our problems.

im not making any commentary on any particular player, just saying how can you say you dont have a striker problem when you have one striker, who is 20, and has scored 2 goals, when we are 21 games in to the season.
Yes your midfield is dysfunctional, as is ours, but you DO lack up front too.

Isn’t his lack of goals and that of those before him in that position an indication that anyone else taking on that position right now will also struggle?

I firmly believe that Hojlund a quality player that is playing in front of a functional midfield who provide very little chance to the striker, while they themselves add no goals.

Who even so, needs some support.

He can't do it alone, even with decent supply, which is the point.

Benzema would be great for half a season. Rest of this season and all of next even. We absolutely 100% without any question need another striker.

This has always been the case.

The club had better be on their game - with Klopp leaving at the end of the season, they will be in the hunt for a new manager, and if ETH doesn't improve things, so will we.

They'll already be looking, he told them November apparently.

Old United won't have been, hopefully Ratcliffe's gang will be.

Looks like Alonso is the current favourite. Be interesting to see if any of their players are minded to jump ship having heard the news, Sala for instance, might he be tempted by oil money rather than stay on under a new manager.

Well none of the names being touted to replace Kloppy would be worth pursuing.

We wouldn't be going for Alonso, being an ex-Livpl player if he's available he'll be going there.

Apparently he's a world class manager now.

Quick search of the forum and he was mentioned about 4 times before today lol

    Nagelsmann? Nah. De Zerbi? Nope.

Well we won't be getting a striker in January, loan or not.

Ten Hag "There is no space for FFP to do something about this lack of quantity in the striker position."

    And on Benzema...

The club reportedly refused to enter talks, due to what they claim are "exorbitant" sums involved in bringing the 36-year-old, who earns £86m a year in Saudi Arabia with Al Ittihad, to Old Trafford.

Well I'd agree with that stance.

Just insane! Glad that we are not letting ourselves be roped into being the bank for yet another player that will be looking for another mega payday. Enough of that already!

    Yeh that's mental.

The Saudi's are corrupt, braindead morons with more money than sense.

Hoi Rashford - bang in 30 per season and you can do what the **** you want. Until then, show some respect for the fans, the manger, the club and your team mates. If that doesn't suit, take your £350k per week and **** off.

He's taken responsibility for his actions, whatever the means. He also said that last time. And will the next time no doubt.

Whatever issue Rashford has with Ten Hag, United, Sancho not being there, whatever, this is his job. His job, for which he's paid ludicrously well.

If I don't like my boss, it doesn't mean I can do whatever the **** I want. I'd get sacked.

Ten Hag has to show that the players don't run the club. This tail wagging the dog situation came from the Ole era, when he was everyone's best mate (they ****ed him over for it) and gave them the keys to the whole house.

Ten Hag (with Ratcliffe obvs) has to get back some control. If it means Rashford leaves with Sancho, then so be it. Sick of the sight of him tbh.

Quite a few bosses I haven't got on with but it's never stopped me working my nuts off. And being a boss myself I've always had contempt for any arsehole that may have had a problem with me and decided they were going to do what they want. They soon knew about it as well.

It's disappointing to see Rashford screw over the good will and general likeability a lot of the fanbase have/had towards him. He's a local lad, came up through the ranks, has the talent, and for obvious reasons everyone wanted him to do well.

Fck knows whats going on tbh.
