There are two clubs in the world that any player would consider joining if they showed interest - Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Can't blame Trippier if his head has been turned by Bayern. Man Utd and Liverpool like to kid themselves that they share the same prestige. They really don't.
I think historically Real Madrid are simply head and shoulders above the rest. However some of it depends on your age and I'd add Barca, Bayern, Juve, Man Utd and possibly Liverpool to that. Ask someone in 10 years and they may be adding Man City to it, these things fluctuate and often depend on which clubs were big when you were growing up.
There's very little in it, for me. Bayern have precedent for getting these players in, so Trippier rumour looks solid assuming they can't get their first choice pick from PSG immeditately. Wilson was just a punt from Atletico, who've quickly moved on to Kean. Almiron is 29, and whilst dedicated and hard running is incredibly unproductive for an attacking player so whilst his price is reasonable we may choose to cash in. Joelinton was a spurious rumour linked to him not having agreed a new contract yet, but I'm sure that'll sort itself out. Bruno was obvious as he's one of only two big money players we have. I think we'd be quite keen to get rid of Almiron, Wilson for decent money and can potentially afford to lose Trippier now given how poor he's been for around 3 months, plus he's 33. However can we really afford to further weaken the squad? We have to be upgrading - axcept at right back - if any of this is true. Isn't Lascelles potentially going to Besiktas as well? He's not involved in the Vermont rumours. It could also be other clubs are literally thinking "what if there's something in these rumours?" and testing the water?
In the grand scheme of things, if Trippier and Almiron left, I wouldn't give a ****. Trippier has aged 12 years this season, he looks slow, tired and behind the entire team. Almiron is a 29 year old RW and tbh, apart from a single purple patch has never lived up to expectations. We need to free up some ****ing money. Wilson can go too, he'd lose a race against an Oak tree
We reject a 12m offer for Trippier by all accounts. That's a good deal and I think we are wrong to reject it. 12m for a 33 year old.
