Or yo yo between Champ and L1 Then we'd get FA Cup 1st round fixtures and no international breaks in alternate seasons.
Saw some L1/2 highlights over the weekend and was wondering if some matches were being played behind closed doors.
I was completely chilled about this season at the start and had no real expectations given the amount of changes at the club at every level and saw it very much as a transitional one. What I hoped for above all was to see an improvement in the entertainment, attractiveness and quality of the football and a few more goals and wins to celebrate after the dismal previous couple of seasons and that is improving visibly game by game now and I still feel there is room to improve even further. Winning this league would be a huge achievement and make this a special season in our history but i'm more than happy if we end up in the play-offs and I think we would have a great chance of a successful day out at Wembley but if we fail ultimately I don't see the squad being massively torn apart for next season. We are building something very encouraging here and the bond between the team and fans hasn't been this good for years and home games are a joy to be at right now. COYR!
I do. THB and Downes will return to their parent clubs. Che and Stu will leave when their contracts expire. KWP, Bednarek, Alcaraz, Sulemana will almost certainly be sold. Could also see Baz tempted away as well. That's a lot to replace.
And with a smaller transfer and wage budget. Someone posted up the wages in this division. We’d probably need a 40% cut based on that table
Yeah, that's really the crux of it. A first year in the Championship is a lot of fun, because you have a tonne of talent, you win a lot, you're one of the big fish. A third season in the Championship is not fun at all...you lose most of your players, you're in an increasing financial crunch, and now you're losing to the big fish that just got relegated.
just heard Lineker praising our run and saying that he wants to win the league and then have the choice to go up or stay put. It’s not just us then
Man, if ever there was a season for a German-style pro/rel playoff...I'm pretty confident the fourth-best team in the Championship would be highly competitive against the fourth-worst team in the PL this year.
