He could do a job in LWB, CDM, CM, even as a number 10 and has played in all those positions importantly at championship level. Would be a really smart signing.

Yes, because if random people who don't work for the club are finding out exact details like you are saying then the person leaking the info wants sacking. I know people here rumours abouts signings and stuff like that but you are stating they are only going to sign 1 player and 3 out

cos to me it means we have no money and the only way we are getting by is player sales that's my problem

it's all good selling players and then reinvesting it

but if all the stewart money and gooch and lihadji and dejaku money has went on past sales it means the owners haven't put a penny in on players

if you want to do the model you start off putting money in, and then any money you get in the future you reinvest on future transfer .if the owners does well when he comes to selling the club he'll make his money back and more when he sells us
so if we sell clarke in the summer it means we've already lost a % of money on the sale before even strengthening are squad ,

    look its my opinion

and if i don't agree with something the club is doing im going to say it .if your that much of snowflake about a concern then thats on you

he's done good on the player side of stuff
but i don't like the idea of getting a player and then having to wait on future sales after already making a big sale that's not reinvestment that's being a tight ass owner who's not willing to put any money in at all anymore

i don't beat the club at any opportunity and have benn very complimentary on what he's done, but this i don't like and i'll post i don't like it cos that's the whole point of a forum is discuss football matters

not just be scared to post if you think the club is doing well or club is doing bad cos it might offend another poster

    the problem is

the club can do no wrong in some fans eyes

and also the club can do no right in some fans eyes

and the turning into a pack of wolves on each side

and attacking anyone who disagrees with them

He's also wrong a lot of the time. Not saying he doesn't get info but if he is getting exact info like that then the person leaking it wants sacking

But you are just guessing, we have no idea what money we do or don't have the spend, which is how it should be

I'm done posting on here. A 'snowflake' for agreeing with a club strategy which is widely used in football. Getting as bad as RTG.

Haway lads. Lots of opinions and views either way but bashing each other is just making this a poor thread to read.

My worry is up front. I know Kevin Phillips even Defoe were exceptions but it’s rare to get a goalscorer for cheap. If this lad in summer enables us to do that fine but let’s get quality where we need it and it feels like we have chosen to operate cautiously being kind which is frustrating for us fans. I’d suggest though that KLD has done some of what you described ie Clarke, Cirkin, Roberts. All fees with possible mark ups to reinvest. I think if Rusyn, Hemir Burstow and Mayenda were Stewart’s replacement they’ve thrown the season but I think they know they’ve miscalculated this - us, two managers, every tv pundit and commentator, journalists all saying it so I do think we should wait and judge but I can feel a lot of frustration that our way is not just ‘money on the table’ when it’s so needed. Maybe we’ll be surprised on deadline day, maybe livid.

Not for me. Doesn't improve the starting 11 at all.

We have Matate who can be used to cover CM.

He isn't a specialist left back either.

We have players who are versatile. We need players who are an immediate improvement or specialists in positions.

the way your going on you would think all i done was slag the club of which i haven't so what your doing is taking your anger out on me

It was more aimed at your reaction to others who don’t agree with you, but yes it’s getting worse. And BTW if you stop posting because you are accused of being a snowflake, then you are confirming their choice of words, just saying :emoticon-0105-wink:. I’ve said previously, doesn’t matter what people tell me, the only way to change my mind is by those who can control it do something about it.

I think we need what you say but also think he's a smart signing as he covers so many areas. He's better than Matete so if this allows Matete to go out whilst also giving us important back up at both left back and centre mid I'm all for it.

So whilst I don't think he gets into our first eleven, he improves our back up options quite a bit, in my opinion.

We desperately need a starter at both LB and CM plus probably a number 9. Can't be signing back ups this window mate.

I don't think there's ever a bad time to improve your back up options. Plus he WOULD be an immediate starter at left back.

There's no chance we are going to sign a left back who is better than Cirkin - as they clearly see him as our main left back. So by that nature any left back signing is going to be a back up. Signing one that can cover for Cirkin (and Alese) whilst also be a better midfield option than Matete, is good, no?

Plays DM for Hungary iirc, he’ll likely go into that role for us and be a back up LB if required

Also the suggestion we shouldn't sign Styles because we need a number 9 is a bit silly really. Its not either/or

You may be right. I have long thought that the intensity of our team has dropped off since the introduction of Jobe into our starting 11.

I may be wrong, but it is a bit of a coincidence.
