Him and his cronies are just a bunch of fascists who want to watch the region burn to keep themselves in power.

The charade of what they're doing is coming apart though.

A key member of Israel's war cabinet has accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of not telling the truth about the military goals in Gaza.

Mr Netanyahu has publicly rejected the US push for a future Palestinian state and insisted the offensive would continue "until complete victory".

But Gadi Eisenkot said those advocating "absolute defeat" of Hamas were not "speaking the truth".

The retired general's son was killed fighting in Gaza.

In an interview to Israel Ch-12 Uvda, he also said Mr Netanyahu shared "sharp and clear responsibility" for failing to protect his country on 7 October and urged fresh elections, saying there was "no trust" in Israel's current leadership.

As for the Americans, Netanyahu unfortunately is correct, they'll back down and go along with whatever he wants.

    military complex wins again

in other headlines some claim 2million Brits will have gas or electric cut off due to failure of payment

Shame on us allowing these lobbyists too run our lives, they are constantly telling us how much tougher it’s gonna get whilst they’re own bank accounts swell to repulsive levels

I see both our aircraft carriers are sitting in Portsmouth, so hopefully the media have a pop at Rishi today, after he's done his news broadcast on the raids. Military commentator on SKY made a point of telling the presenter, how far our jets had to fly, due to the aircraft carriers being there. I guess he's alluding at it's all well and good you wanting to go on raids, but we need the tools to do the fooking job. I suppose from a Yemen perspective it's a good thing but our adversaries will no doubt note all this.

I dunno about all that personally.

Aren't they just flying from Cyprus? I'd imagine it's quite a logistical ball ache to get the aircraft carriers out to Yemen.

I'm not sure though, sounds like pretty standard British whining to me. If we moved the aircraft carriers out, there would be an expert on Sky complaining we pay for a base on Cyprus and don't use it.

They can do the raids from Cyprus and have hit Yemeni targets it's not like we are continuously bombing every single day anyway.

I'm sure the UK armed forces does far more tests than anyone on here can ever understand so on this I'll just have go along with what they're doing

All I want to know is, if according to the Ukrainians, it costs like $350 dollars to build a drone, why the **** bother with planes at all.

You can have 5 civvies with playstation controllers send drone after drone.

From what I heard previously it's an eight hour flight, which as said at the time is no easy task for such a pilot on a mission, that's got to be alert to everything at all times.

I know it only looks a short distance on a map, but that's like the difference of saying Toon are only a short gap from the top of the Prem. :bandit:

Let alone what's the point of two aircraft carriers our only aircraft carriers sitting in dock while the world around us is on fire, it's about as useful as the Germans supplying tin hats to the Ukrainians.

I agree with that principle really, if we have them, why not use them. Otherwise what was the point in spending billions on em, even if it's just to get some practical training or something.

there was no point in spending billions on them particularly as they made the penny pinching decision to not bother installing catapult and arrester gear meaning we had to buy hideously expensive VTOL capable planes from the septics . Basically we spent the money on giant fleet carriers which cannot be used by dedicated fighter/bomber wings .
Oh and they have no physical defences just electronic so will require a large chunk of our frigate / destroyer capability

You're compared the QE class carriers to the US carriers though, the two Carriers will serve completely different functions.

The QE is designed to be within a group and to primarily produce extremely high sortie rates with brand new modern aircraft. They can bring up 4 planes per every two minutes armed and ready to fly, planes that land can order munitions before landing and theyre automatically loaded within a 2 minute time frame. They're quite advanced.

They also only cost 4.5b to build and due to the large number of civilian crew, will cost less than the new US Ford carrier will cost per year.

I don't think there's penny pinching, I think they're designed for a specific purpose and they're the only non-US super carriers in service.

    This includes China even.

The amount of civilians in the UK armed forces now is staggering btw, no wonder the UK Army has cut so many personnel they're all civilians now!

Said this from the beginning, that this was never an operation to remove a 'terrorist' threat, it was an excuse to enact ethnic cleansing

The west have backed this Fascist state and now we are seeing the true intent from Netanyahu to wipe out the whole of Palestine

That's their purpose, you don't send an aircraft carrier on patrol, they're always part of a fleet, and the job of the rest of the fleet is to protect it. That's every aircraft carrier, not just Britain's. And surely all those aircraft on it, which include the means to destroy both surface and sub-surface targets, are defences?

of course all carriers operate as part of a group but to have no physical means of protection bar launching a £100m fighter seems a bit dumb considering the rise in use of drones etc, Still think that catapult and arrester gear should have been fitted and considering the cut back in the number of F35's ordered the cheaper costing planes would at least mean the carrier would be carrying more.
Basically imo too much of the naval budget has been sank into the carriers which will rarely if ever used.
