It wouldn't surprise me. I just can't get my head around he loved his daughter too much to think otherwise, maybe it will show how well I knew or didn't know the guy and I tend to trust my instinct. If something happened to his daughter, then I'd understand. But until something tells me the latter, I will keep believing he's coming back.

You may be right but also my experience of comm was someone just angry and fed up with everything in life so him going out that way makes sense. Plus he's ex forces and that **** ain't for some people in the end and it ****s them up long term.

Jus sayin, I know you spoke via pm so will rightly have a better view of him personally.

Its a shame he left here and life (if so) that's about all I can say.

Everyone I've ever known to be in the forces are hard grafters and with that very little tolerance, so I don't really see it as angry. Some guy I knew a very long time ago, was in the forces and got sacked once for nutting someone out <laugh> so I know their trigger points, so I sort of got (understood) his thoughts towards you, but understanding, don't mean agreeing, other than I knowledge their opinion. Makes me laugh thinking about you two, because I can relate it to the situation where that guy nutted someone out, a proper C U Jimmy moment lol. Just craics me up, soz. No point trying to change their opinion, might as well talk to a brick wall. Always there for family though or daughter as was the case.

Sadly people's love of their children isn't always enough to prevent suicide. Though I desperately hope you are correct.
