Pity, even a couple of £m would have helped to give us more scope, but I suppose it's still £35k pw off the wage bill - and more chance of game time for Manq.

I do agree it seems a bit odd. The only rationale is Barnes, Willock and Murphy are all back in the next fortnight or so. There would have to be something afoot though that takes us forward - Raphinha, for example, was mooted a while ago.

I guess it depends on the next couple of days, if Miggy, Tripps etc do depart then we have money to play with both fees and wages wise.

Wilson you'd hope would only be allowed to leave on the basis of another striker lined up, no way we can rely on Isak to stay fit for remainder of the season

It's difficult to some people to justify signing another CM as from next season we'll be lumbered with many options when they get back from suspensions and injuries.

But the way I think about it - Sign an upgrade on Lonstaff/Willock for 20m, and then sell Longstaff or Willock in summer for 15-20m.

The problem would be if the inbound payments were also spread over 5 years.

No, it doesn't make a difference. This is about receipt of offer - there's no amortisation on sales and FFP doesn't look at actual cashflow.

This is all getting very complicated, bring back the days of meeting in a service station and agreeing a deal with the help of a brown paper bag<laugh>

Totally agree. People forget how hard that ****er runs for us. The amount of times is unsettled opposition defences through sheer passion and hard work. Doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

This transfer window has been mental. Trippier, Wilson, Miggy, Joelinton all rumoured to be going either now or in the future. Never expected any of it.

Will we bring anyone in?! Our squad is already depleted!

Miggy we could lose but none of the rest. I suppose they are confident of Barnes, Gordon and Murphy being sufficient for rest of season.

I'd still not be selling any first team players IMO.

No cos he'd always get the wrong service station and no deals would get done.

I'd say the club could get more in Jan than the summer so perhaps the club are accepting this year as a write off but storing it's nuts like a squirrel for the summer. Yes I know Squirrels store for Winter... it's the principle I'm using.

We shouldn't be writing this year at all. We could still easily finish as high as 6th.

It's not a write off because we cannot get UCL football again FFS.

We have 17 games left to play with favourable fixture.

European football next season is essential or we're definitely losing Bruno and Isak in the summer.

Tell you what if Ashworth can ship out Trippier, Wilson, Miggy and Lacselles by the close of the window and bring in adequate replacements (a CB, CM, RW, CF) everyone will have to yield and get there arse out in fenwicks!

Chances are though it'll be Hayden and White out on loans only... :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Loads of flappers that can't see past this seasons games.... nonetheless if they sell they'll already have targets man. They haven't just woke up today in a panic.
