Have never actually tasted the stuff - its reputation put me off it.
And I'm never likely to taste it, now knowing that it's "akin to being under a bridge on one’s knees orally pleasing a vagrant"...:emoticon-0119-puke:

Flipping cold up here this morning, and now I know why - someone left the fridge open...

There was very little wending of weary ways to work up here - schools have been shut for the last three days thanks to snow. Same again tomorrow I suspect as it's looking rather ominous outside still.

My Dad was a big fan, we listened to the old cassettes of it in the car when I was growing up. Can't remember much of it, Round The Horne I still remember bits of.

Is this what happens when :emoticon-0159-musicBritannia waves the rules:emoticon-0159-music?

Never appreciated the Navy Lark for some reason - used to listen to Round The Horne and Beyond Our Ken, as well My Word with Frank Muir & Denis Norden - two very clever wordsmiths.

I listened to all of these when I was younger, superb radio and so clever. I used to listen to the radio a lot whilst in bed with tonsilitis every 6 weeks.

    Anyone remember The Clitheroe Kid?

Yes - and The Goon Show, Michael Bentine's Round the Bend, Hancock's Half Hour, and 20 Questions (brilliant with Kenneth Horne, not so good with with Gilbert Harding, who I suspect was drunk every episode) - they just don't make them like that any more...

I was very much a fan of the Goons, and Round the Horne. They are still very funny today. Never got into the Navy Lark, I don't know why.

Whether or not she's a person is debateable - but it's the current leader of the house of commons, Penny Mordaunt. An admittedly slightly embellished picture of her, taken when she was falsely claiming to have served in the Royal Navy. Some bright spark added the parrot to make her claim more believable.
