I feel so disconnected to SAFC at the moment I’m genuinely glad this is all happening. I’m still utterly furious about the bcb. Appointing Michael Beale and how they went about appointing Michael Beale. I’m glad there’s huge backlash. I hope it makes things really uncomfortable for them. They deserve all of this. I don’t even want KLD gone. I have mainly like what he’s done here. But these past few weeks have took the piss out of SAFC fans.
It is. I was at Beale's first game and ten minutes in there was a bloke going off his head at Beale from the other side of the pitch, ranting and raving and calling him all sorts. He didn't get on the pitch to carry it on but it was close. Maybe he was a scholar of the game who knew all about Beale from extensive research and had numerous legitimate tactical concerns. Or maybe he was a kneejerking arsehole who's read a bit online and has taken offence because it wasn't a glamorous appointment. Who knows.
Quite enjoyable podcast sometimes, spoiler - they've never liked Beale.. https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aH...pisode/NjVhZDQ3M2UyZTY0MTQwMDE2ZWM0OTU0?ep=14
At the game the other night I just heard ‘cockney cockney cockney’ ‘why are the letting a cockney(who isn’t a cockney) run our club, then heard people saying Ballard was class and we were missing Alese, and ‘good lad O Nien’ all as cockney or more cockney.,They truly are ****ing stupid. It’s funny at times but then it gets horrible.
It’s turning into a hysterical witch hunt that’s why. He’s been vilified in social media and it doesn’t reflect us as fans very well at all. people can moan until the cows come home about how his face doesn’t fit, his accent doesn’t fit, he has a mole but he’s contracted for 2.5 years and contractually we can’t feasibly sack him yet.
I don't think I have ever seen such hatred for a manager or head coach like what has been happening on social media. We all have reservations, some with stronger reservations than others, but this isn't a good look for the fanbase. The comments about his appearance, his accent etc are leaving a bad taste in my opinion.
If the answer isn't A then he's got no business being here anyway. And the reason the support is unhappy is because they knew it was likely to be a poor appointment. The other stuff is just window dressing.
Its grown far to big now, Saturday will be interesting to see what the crowd do, although it feels inevitable that if we go behind the atmosphere will be toxic. I'm not even sure a couple of signings would be enough to pull this round, especially if they are late in the week and don't start the game
It’s like @Smug in Boots always says, the majority of fans at the match aren’t reflected by the noisy witch-hunt online and turn up open minded
I think itll be toxic from the start, we need to be getting behind the team on the pitch as we can impact their performance if its all toxic on Saturday Also its not a good look this campaign to get him gone for future managerial appts. We will always be attractive to people but i think a lot of very good candidates will be put off by how weve reacted to Beale. Social media can be great at times but this just feels like we are throwing our toys out the pram. I dont rate beale at all, i have said that from the start but not sure ive willed a manager to turn things around as much as i am at the minute with him. Digs all over social media about his appearance and how he talks is pathetic and childish I never boo at games but i also understand why some fans would, theyve paid hard earned money to be there and if they arent happy with the 'product' that theyve seen then i get booing. I just dont get these campaigns online for a manager thats been in charge of 7 games (even if they have been poor games), in my honest opinion i think its a poor look for us as supporters Thats just my view
Yeah this is the most one sided disgust for a manager I have seen. You know what, you appoint someone who wasn't wanted , you are likely to get this, especially when form and performance go down the swanny. All so avoidable too. Just another poor decision that seems frequent in the last 6 weeks of this club.
It would help if we even looked like getting back to playing on the front foot, quicker passing and interplay. I get the passing it around (to a point) as we are trying to draw teams out, but we seem to be stuck passing for the sake of it, with very little penetration. It's just feels one paced and one dimensional compared to how we know we can play
We've been sussed out. It might improve with Roberts back in the side or if Ba can convince the coaches that he should be starting. We're overly reliant on Clarke to make things happen. Things were always likely to drop off with a bit of second season syndrome. It might take a slightly disappointing season (in comparison to last season) before we can go again. If we could swap this season and last season around, there wouldn't be all these complaints.
Hard to get consistency when the head coach keeps dropping players out of the blue for no reason, only to bring them back the week later.
