The usual way to beat a press like that is to play a direct game. But we don't have anyone to play up front to hold the ball up in a direct game. We are a possession based side so it appeared he tried to play to our strengths, which is play through the thirds, and hope that was good enough. It didn't work but he can't do what he doesn't have the players to do. Similarly, Seelt played out of position at RB against Hull because whatever has happened in training has made him believe that there wasn't a better option. It's not beyond either of them. They are looking for solutions to the problems we have in the side, it's just that there are only so many solutions available to them. We pressed better against Hull than against Ipswich and he changed the shape in midfield. So he is looking for ways to make things work but until players return from injury or new signings are made, his options are limited (even if everyone is fit, we don't have the players to play a more direct game with the current squad).

Not long in and pissed but who do the Beale out lads want in. Genuinely interested because before we got him the only name’s mentioned were sexy named foreign coaches and I’d never heard of them apart from on here. Schumacher was mentioned and dissed but other than that and Potter( no ****in chance of him) I don’t recall a realistic name.
If he's as confident in his own abilities as CLOUGH (deserves capitals) or mourinho (doesnt) then he probably thought, serves them right for not appointing me!
