Reminds me of a true story I heard years ago about a bloke who was in dispute over paying a bill. He eventually wrote a letter to the creditor saying ..I'm paying this bill in cash under duress...you will see that I've kindly rolled up the notes very tightly and stuck them down so they won't hurt so much when you stick them up your arse. Chapeau! I thought at the time.
Just read that, due to a tech hitch, some Tesco grocery deliveries didn't happen as expected this morning. Customers deemed it shambolic, they are reported to be appalled, furious. One poor soul said he got up extra early at 0800 for his delivery and it didn't turn up. What's happened to us that we can't accept that this sort of thing will happen from time to time. I know some folk are disabled, housebound or otherwise disadvantaged but most of us can get to a shop, keep extra food in, phone a friend, it shouldn't be a problem for most. I despair.
David Brent > Quotes > “Life is just a series of peaks and troughs, and you don't whether you're in a trough until you're climbing out, or on a peak until you're coming down. And that's it, you know, you never know what's round the corner. But it's all good. "If you want the rainbow you've got to put up with the rain". Do you know which "philosopher" said that? Dolly Parton. And people say she's just a big pair of tits.”
