Shock as cheat cheats https://x.com/troutbeckwolf/status/1748768930292716030?s=46&t=DAxwWj15XaMBwCrrY9gKFQ
At last, a man that talks sense……. If I was a pundit I certainly wouldn’t have been blowing smoke up Ivan Toney’s arse like Sky pundits. I get that he’s done the crime and served his time (very lenient, not enough in my book though) but why lord him around like a prized hero, making him captain, what kind of role model is that! He should have gone about his business quietly, and let his feet on the pitch do the talking. And then, to add insult further, true devious **** housery, when refs back turned, moves the foam line and ball for the free kick. I don’t get why Forest players didn’t see & object, what about VAR??
As much as I want VAR ditching full stop they had it at that game…so what were they playing at ignoring blatant cheating?
I see one or two massive fans making an arse of themselves and abusing Kasey Palmer, they really are some morons about.
If you read about it VAR isn’t something which can be used for these sort of things. Beckham used to do similar. No doubt if one of our players did the same it would be cute, smart bit of thinking and no one would be calling for it to be disallowed.
I trust the Club to deal with them accordingly. Every Club does it's utmost to wipe this type of nonsense out and rightly so,Sheffield Weds are no different. The Muppet/Muppets who have racially abused a player will soon wish they hadn't.
Disagree fwiw. All sorts of cheating & conning goes on all the time. But that just somehow seems wrong (in effect moving the marker that the ref has put down) and is sort of taking the piss out of officials. I hope there's retrospective action taken, otherwise what sort of message does it send out.
Infantino wants clubs whose fans racially abuse players to automatically forfeit the game. He’s obviously thought that one through …..
There are very few games nowadays that don't involve cheating in some or other form.Players steal yard on yard at throw-ins,move the ball out of the quarter circle at corners, move it off the spot for penalties, throw themselves around to get players booked or sent off, they ALL do it,they all take the piss out of officials. I agree that he shouldn't be 'moving the foam' with his finger but before they started pratting around with ridiculous tins of said substance, they could manipulate the position at will. What next, refs carrying 10 metre Stanley tape measures...
re the Toney affair, what's the difference between what he did and, say, the 'professional' foul, the shirt tugging at corners, stealing 10 yards at throwins. They try it on, sometimes they get away with it, sometimes not, end of story imo.
Nothing different Although I assume VAR officials would chip in and say something if the goal scorer had got a clear advantage by pulling a defenders shirt back?
I don't assume anything of VAR these days. Moving the ball a foot could be seen as gaining an advantage, or not. Impossible to say. Toney's just got away with one in my view. And I still can't understand why the Forest defenders didn't see anything and alert the ref. Anyway, just watched it again and I find it quite funny, he did it really well especially moving the foam
I'd be being a bit disingenuous if I didn't admit to bursting into a quick rendition of Shirley Basseys 'Gold Finger' and I replaced the 'Gold' with 'Foam'... I know, even I worry about my mental state at times!
It’s more to damn VAR with. If they don’t spot that it’s a disgrace. And refs (on field or not) shouldn’t wait for players bleating about stuff to act either.
Twine moved the ball slightly when he scored his free kick against Cardiff. He did it while the ref was booking that idiot who was trying to stand ahead of the white line
