A couple of signings will lift the mood of everyone, but the signs are ominous for MB and I'm not seeing much improvement in our play at present
Total hypothetical scenario...But lets say we get humped off Stoke and Boro....This fans start to turn their ire on Speakman and KLD as well as Beale...The SAFC top brass decide to cut their losses on Beale and get rid of him and appoint Dodds. Would those who didn't want Mowbray and certainly don't want Beale be happy with this?
Not sure he wants to be the main man for long periods. If he did, I reckon he would have had the job after WBA and Leeds. Plus the club don't want to lose him from his current role.
I don't listen to interviews with managers very often. So far I think I listened to Beale once and it was after a win. So I had no idea what he had been saying after the losses. Then I fishpastes article yesterday, wow the excuses he is coming up with and the people he is chucking under the bus already is unbelievable. Can anyone think of a manager/head coach who blamed everyman and his dog that turned it around? Writing on the wall when they start doing that usually, sign they have no clue how to fix it! I don't think a manager should get away with that **** to the media, there is no way he will have the dressing room or the coaching staff 100% behind him pulling **** like that! It's another huge negative mark for me! And I'll say it again, does it matter that he puts on best training sessions Speakman has ever seen of he can't get he is suspect tactically. Questions in my head as soon as speakman said that, weren't hiring a coach we were hiring a head coach so a manager who won't deal with transfer but Speakman was over the moon with the sessions he could put on!
Put yourself in Speakmans shoes right now. Getting to business end of January transfer window Beale isn’t top of the agenda no matter what the results. Come February you need to take a couple of days breather then back to it. Hopefully some decent new players and give things a chance to improve, give Beale a f’ing rocket to play attacking football. You’ve got to work out who is available as an alternative (Dodds doesn’t want it yet) and then make sure whoever you line up you’re not making same mistake again. I really would not expect to see Beale’s head on a spike outside the SOL until March at the earliest.
Same here regards bcb - that's a corporate mess up which I hope they learn from and improve that team behind the scenes. The Beale appointment is driving the anger because virtually everyone wouldn't have had him in a list of 25 possibles for very good reasons and are very quickly being proven right. I don't want the owner out if he is still committed but the model relying on and seemingly being in unsackable positions (speakman, Dodds, proctor) is very unhealthy imo. These are academy level people without much standing in the game as players giving it a shot which has got us so far but appears to be at the highest point we are likely to get to. It needs a reboot hopefully by KLD if he still wants to drive the club forward.
That's rationale but if we get whooped off stoke and the Boro and the fans continue to turn, not sure rationale decision making will be available.
Got to put the club in best light possible if pulling the trigger so soon. Go too early and it’s a huge red flag to other coaches. Need to show we gave Beale every possible chance and the club had no option whatsoever.
The booing was significant on Friday, I voice my opinions on here and would never boo my team especially in my own ground, it serves no purpose other than unnerving the players. I get that it’s a way of getting to the manager and owners but ultimately it’s the players that suffer. I was shocked at how quickly the stadium emptied on Friday night and that is probably more of a concern for the owner than the booing. My main worry is that people won’t renew and the fans we’ve won back will drift away again, the atmosphere at the Mags game can motivate more than the manager and we desperately need it at the moment. My stance is get behind the lads coz ultimately the results will dictate what happens with Beale. The players are young and need us more than they need Beale
...and despite the fact that MN has nothing to do with recruitment of players, he will still cop pelters fromm some of our fan base
I think the majority given the choice between dodds or beale would've went for dodds. He got a great win v Leeds and set us up good to do it. I know he's had other bad results but in that 1 game he has shown more than beale
Which won't happen as I'm sure we will get in at least 2 new players. Full back might be the one we miss out on
If we get in a quality cdm and striker and start winning and cementing a place in the play offs, does MB get credit or is there no way back for him. Personally he still gets a chance from me ( but it’s not endless) and his opinion on needing certain positions strengthened is the same as TM so may be it’s the recruitment that’s failed. I also don’t think the players are blameless either. Lack of movement looking for the ball and messing easy passes up is on them not the coach. I don’t like the slow build up though we aren’t Man City, when we knock it about quickly and forward we’re a dangerous side, barring the fox in the box. HTL KTF
I hope you're right, because we need them! LB is always one of the most difficult positions to fill, so I agree we may have a problem there
I think that might be being misinterpreted. I think he means he is doing his best, along with his staff.
