Their attendances aren't the best - averaging around 550 at home - not surprising I suppose given that they are playing away from the their fan base and were relegated last year. And relegation this season will see the number of visiting fans drop next season.
Football finance seems to have always been on the edge. Someone who I worked with in Banbury set up his own company. He won a contract to build a stand for Berwick Rangers, and despite doing most of the work, never received payment. The entrance money from the fans was collected in an old biscuit tin, and the contents used to buy refreshments for the directors. The company he set up went bust, and he had his home that was security with the bank taken away and sold. The last I heard of him, he was suing the club, but I never heard the outcome.
AC Milan keeper Mike Maignan walks off after racist abuse from opposition fans at Udinese. Team follows.
I think he would have had no luck, unless this happened prior to 1992. The stadium has been owned by supporters since then, not the club.
Watching the Celtic v Buckie Thistle cup match, which is a little one-sided. It took Celtic 25 minutes to take the lead - after two penalty appeals turned down and three goals disallowed. Currently 2-0 but the Buckie fans are enjoying themselves - average home crowd 350 this season but there are 5000 of them there...
Watching the Australia vs Uzbekistan Asian Cup qualifier - Aussies leading 1-0 at half time thanks to a rather contentious VAR penalty decision, one which even I thought was ridiculous - will have to see if I can find it later on YouTube. On another note, if we're still looking for another striker, there's an Aussie who plays for Portsmouth who would be well worth checking out. Kusina Yengi. He's had one goal chalked off because someone else was offside and has been a real handful for the Uzbekistan defence so far.
Final score 1-1 - not a very good second half but Aussies through to the next stage. Here's that ridiculous VAR decision... https://www.youtube.com/shorts/PXdy4wm1pXI
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68070713 I am not sure how clubs can control fans before unacceptable behaviour occurs. Decent fans might feel anger that they are being penalized for something they despise, but all they can do is report foul actions after they have happened. It is a problem that doesn't seem to go away.
Chelsea v Middlesborough semi final tonight If Middlesborough go through to the final will; they be able to concentrate on the league, if they get knocked out will they be able to refocus immediately, either way will it badly affect their promotion push
3-0 Chelsea already . Boro seem as inconsistent as everyone around the final play off place so who knows .
Ouch ! Really got to hurt for Wycombe . Losing in the 20th minute of injury time. Ref got an injury mid match it seems . https://www.flashscore.com/match/W6gIR5jC/#/match-summary/match-summary
Yengi was good with Western Sydney before he went to Portsmouth, but he is 25 and I'm not sure that he could make the step up to the Championship. I think that he would be found out, unless Portsmouth have improved his decision making.
Jurgen Klopp to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, saying he has run out of energy. Like or loath the club, he has been highly successful there, and they will have trouble finding another coach as good.
I see that Postecoglou is one of the names being touted by bookies as his replacement. Mind you, so is Mourinho - so what do they know...
End of an era there then. Liverpool will hope the replacement is better than how Arsenal’s replaced Wenger and Man U with .Ferguson .
