QPR keeper Brian Murphy has been ruled out until Christmas after getting injured in training.

The Irishman has made just one appearance since signing for Rangers in the summer – in the Carling Cup defeat against Rochdale in August – and has been stuck on the sidelines behind number one Paddy Kenny in the pecking order.

But the 28-year-old has suffered another setback after tearing his calf, which looks set to keep him in the treatment room for the next month.

So Cerney will warm the bench instead, hopefully no real issue here.

I know Paddy has been fantastic but now we are in the Prem I would like to see someone else pushing him for his place. I reckon a second good goalkeeper maybe signed in the summer. If Wigan were to go down i would take El habsi , fantastic keeper.

The prospect of Cerny getting back on the pitch fills me with dread. I think his confidence has gone, along with his bottle. We'd be better of with a loan keeper.

Me too. As cover for Kenny, or for the occasional game, I would love to see us pick up Tom Heatley from Cardiff, where, when he does get a game, always performs very well, as he did for us when we had him on loan - wish we could have hung onto him back then, we seemed to let him slip through our fingers.
