Reet dyed in the wool red n white spectacles always look for positives, me. I still back the clubs stance on young players but we need a bit more experience as well as a cdm and goal scorer. I also think managers should be given time and the weeks before TM left it was mainly crap, but I think he’s lost the dressing room already. And twice in front of the cameras he’s been critical of players and now the crowd. Personally I think it’s too early to call for his head but it’s a million miles wrong for him to be having a pop at the supporters, I don’t think he’ll change the minds of most/any if we don’t get back into the pay offs. I don’t want us to do a Watford and hire and fire 5/6 times a season but if he’s lost/never had the players and the support is already turning he could be gone within the next month. **** me what a shambles that would be. Soz for the waffle.
You’re saying that like he’s got all of his appointments wrong. Every time he’s improved us (current set up excluded). Neil, Mowbray both his choices and exactly right. I think he’s got this wrong too.
Not nitpicking or anything but for a football manager to come out and say they're looking for options in the building incase we don't sign anyone is a cause for concern. January is a hard month for signings historically as everyone wants that little extra, but be it this month or in the Summer, Clarke will be away imo. If this happens, that's our goal threat gone and quite frankly a cause for concern. Basing this on the here and now looking at the future.
If no supporter criticised Beale the club would still replace him at the same time if he isn't doing the job imo ... ... I sometimes think people believe the more they post the quicker he'll be gone. No harm in that, I expect it makes people feel they have some kind of control. The Mags had endless protests, for that reason, but he ignored it all and sold up when it suited him.
You’re right about social media like this forum probably has no bearing on his tenure but if the crowd get more and more vocal it’ll only end one way and it won’t be in the not too distant, in my humble opinion.
I’ve wondered that too, especially since Speakman's comments on who picks the team. Who would want to be our head coach if there are people at the club trying to influence team selection so it aligns with our strategy. “You pick the team, but I’d really like ‘X’ to be involved”
It's only the mood in the ground that has any real effect ... ... we have excellent support but can turn when things aren't right.
What's really sad about the entire situation now..is that its getting toxic and when the fans turn especially at the SOL then its going to be tough. I have been one to give to guy time and see where we are in a few weeks....sadly after watching the Coventry game..The Mags game and last night its clear even the most optimistic fan that we have gone backwards. The owner/board have a tricky few weeks coming up.....if things don't turn for the better then this is all going to get incredibly uncomfortable for the manager and the top brass at the club
Haven't read everything since last night. So forgive me.if already mentioned but... Speakman has banged in about his Beale's coaching being the best he has seen, apparently a lot of people in the game bang on about his coaching being another level but for me alarm bells were ringing when Speakman said that as I had one thing in my head! What about his team, selection, tactics and ability to make changes depending on what's happening on the pitch? Would those who have a bit of coaching experience agree that when they go on about a coaching session it's got **** all to do with getting results in thr pitch? Improvement with players at this level is going to be minimal, so what a head coach needs is ability to put good tactics in place and train the players to carry it out in match day, pick the best players in the best positions for those tactics, and finally be able to tweet it slightly depending on opposition each week then see where its not working and make a change on the pitch? Not going to get someone who is great at all that but it looks like he is ****e at it all so far but hey at least the lads are getting good coaching sessions in. On what? Passing, shooting, etc???
This. I don't want him to be sacked, I want him to be given time, for all sorts of reasons, but if the fans are going to make matters worse by booing him, etc, it's probably best he goes. Giving in to the unthinking mob mentality doesn't sit well but its probably what's going to have to happen.
To find the Manager under pressure despite only being here a month tells a story , Mowbray was popular with the fans but when he spoke out about the MODEL he was quickly dispensed with for not toeing the party line which has proved disastrous . The fans didn’t want Beale as it seemed a backward step and most would have been more prepared to give Dodds the interim manager an opportunity to see if he was capable of taking over the task . Last nights performance was dire and showed a lack of desire and application with the same players seeming unclear of what they were supposed to be doing and not being directed by the management team or ignoring their instructions . O’Nien is not a central defender nor is he a captain , Lee Cattermole did the half time draw and he was a LEADER , all the fans around me were saying they wished he had brought his boots such was the level of performance by our existing players .
This is the problem every game just looks like a coaching session with players in their little slot doing individually what they are told. No tactics not playing like a team no real intent to score goals and win the game just football by numbers I'm normally very positive and get over defeats really quickly but I'm at a loss this morning not even sure a couple of good new signings will make any difference if we are tactically inept
That's what happens when you employ a training pitch coach. He is the second man. Never the main. This is the output.
Not at all, personally think he's done good job player wise and have no remarks against him for it. Was just a little poke at him and his choice of beale as head coach
