Good thread from HCSS on Twitter about Coyle:

I think on this board we're often too focused on negatives and don't give enough attention to celebrating good things about our team. Worth remembering what we have in Coyle.

He was talking about last night. Everyone's been banging on about how this team should toughen up and develop the sort of ****-housery that Norwich had. Last night we got it and, with a team down to its bare bones, got a result.

Goal from a different angle. Superb execution of the volley from Carvalho. Tidy assist from Morton.

I've never felt the need to forget what Coyle brings to this team.He might not be the most gifted,Premier League quality, swashbuckling, playboy we've ever had BUT...He's one of the hardest grafters this Club has had the pleasure of employing in many a year.

There have been times in the last couple of seasons where one or two players have rightfully been criticised for their lack of effort and desire.Lewie Coyle hasn't even come close to being bracketed into that department...

That lad has fitted in seamlessly since his call up,he looks so assured and confident for one so young and inexperienced..I think he's got a huge future ahead of him and I've a hunch it'll be above Championship level!!!

I think the thing with Coyle is that he is Hull City to the core and we should be so proud of that. LR was at pains to stress in interview last night that its Coyle who shows every new player around Hull, helps them settle in etc and then gets smacked more times than his brother and then gets straight back up and goes again. Gifted, maybe not, Hull City definitely..

Agreed. I was thinking about this last night. I don't think it can be overstated just how well he's stepped up. As you say, he really looks so assured, in a way you rarely see from an academy graduate just making his first appearances in the senior team. And he seems well rounded too. He's solid defensively but also so confident going forward. When he gets high up the pitch he'll pass it inside and then make an aggressive run into the box. At times he may leave gaps on the break doing that, but it will also cause chaos for opposition defences when they think they just have our attackers to deal with and suddenly the left back is storming into the box off the ball. His goal against Birmingham came from one of these out of the blue, surging runs forward.
