It's a head scratcher. It's not that he's been crap generally, his stats are solid enough, it's that when we need to make subs to change the game and he's offered nowt in attack all game we never take him off. He's exempt for some inexplicable reason.
My thoughts on the game: Better 2nd half than 1st but still not creating chances. We simply do not make changes to impact games and the same players keep getting used every week - some are already running on empty n its only going to get worse. Starting line up was wrong tonight and the changes were poor or too late. We are so boring to watch now, so predictable and slow - just means teams get men behind the ball easily against us. Recruitment has been poor for 2 windows now and its now starting to show in the squad. Need to sign 3 or 4 immediate impact players in this window Its getting toxic around the club, chants of 'your getting sacked in the morning' and massive boos at the end are concerning and likely will get louder if this run of form continues The biggest concern i have is the way we are playing - slow n boring- and lack of positive changes were the issues beale had at rangers. I still hope im wrong about him but everything ive said that im concerned about is happening at the minute Cant see us sacking a manager after only a few games but every game feels like a must win for him now Shocking result tonight
It's ridiculous that he hasn't got good will though. He's manager of our football club. It's not his fault Mowbray was sacked and it's not it his fault that people wanted someone else. People forget that his start was an improvement on Mowbray's last few games. It's not been great since the mags game but he's not had any grace period whatsoever.
He's just not very inspiring is he? I was born and bred in Durham, me dad is from Gateshead, but me mam is a cockney and me 2 kids will grow up speaking with southern accents. I have nowt at all against the way Beale talks, but I have a big problem with his demeanor and his words...and so far, the style of football. He's not a leader, as far as I can see, so far. You can't sack him now...he might actually be as good a coach as has been suggested, and he might get the players he's hopefully asking for this window. I'm not ruling him out. He's backed in to a corner now though via results... I hope he gets himself out of it and becomes a legend...whatever is being said tonight, if he does dig his way out, after this window, and turns it around, he'll be loved. That's still a possibility. The writing is on the wall though. Results MUST improve!
Last season we had centre backs that weren’t so comfortable with ball at feet so we got the ball forward quickly which resulted in an exciting style of play. We decided we didn’t want that and wanted ball playing defenders instead. Which immediately slowed our game down. Genuinely think we need to change our style of play significantly
Never been so glad to get home from a match, the penny pinching has finally caught up with us. This bloke must be Howard Wilkinson love child, what an absolute clown, he’s took a young, quick, exciting side and turned them into a labouring, boring, ineffective mirror image of his woeful Rangers side inside a month. Beale looks exactly what he is, a cheap out of work bluffer. These players can’t go from being exciting, quick, enthusiastic footballers to the dross I’ve just witnessed without poor leadership. This is unacceptable and no improvement on Mowbray, sad thing is I can’t see us sacking him coz he’s got a 2.5 year contract and it will cost money, and we don’t like parting with that !! I’m seriously pissed off with everything about our club at the moment, I’m angry & hurting because we are being mismanaged on lots of levels yet again. We need a massive injection of quality very quickly otherwise we are in for a long few months. Can’t believe I’m saying this after a matter of weeks but BEALE OUT !!!
People obviously are annoyed, and have every right to be after that game. The fact that the sceptics have sen it coming and are being proved right will annoy some , but I doubt they will be pleased we have lost , and no one should label them as such. That was a very big game to loose , I was hoping for 9 points from our four games inc Hull now I will take six, or we are out of the running this season imo.
Im not having this rewriting of history of Mowbray mind, we were bad this season under him. He deserved to go, just like Beale does.
Someones accent is just a shorthand for where they are from and you can then infer a bunch of things about them. It isn't about some kind of reverse snobbery. When people have things in common, like being from the north and all the things associated with that, it's natural that we feel kinship because of that.
Whilst I agree with you, Beale hasn’t helped himself. It was fine to try to make us more solid but not to blunt the forward play so much.
I was against the beale appt but im devastated when we lose. I was wanting to be ao wrong on him - and i suppose i might still be but its getting toxic n fast
Feel really low tonight. Season seems done. I know that’s not the case in terms of the league table/points to play for but it feels horrendous right now. We’re as good as done with Beale in charge.
