Buy + immediate loan back is generally good policy.
Depending on the state of the squad in the
summer, you could even let them stay for
the whole of the season after.

I think Levy should just leave the transfer Levy’ing to Lange (and Paratici), which thankfully it does seem he’s doing anyway, the last time he thought he Levy’d a club was when he spent £60m on Richarlison.

Sad that ACL injury has ended his time at Spurs. :(

These are the occasions where Levy should
definitely be let loose to play (especially as I
doubt Gallagher is deemed to be must-have) .

He was a terrible fit for Conte's system as he couldn't defend and no longer had the pace to break on the counter. Useful for a few corners and crosses but most of his performances ranged from anonymous to poor.

It is a shame as I think we would have enjoyed a real swansong under Ange.

Chelsea won’t be selling him for anything less than £40m-£50m though, and he’s not worth anything more than £20m. There isn’t really much of an upside to this deal, I’m surprised at how strong our interest in him in.

11 in 55. He’ll need to hit about another 15-20 goals this season to begin making that £60m look reasonably well spent.

I think Solomon and Werner are different propositions tbh. Solomon is more of a pure winger, Werner is a direct rotation option/Asia Cup replacement for Son as a pacy LW/9 hybrid.

If Werner delivers solid G/A numbers then I like picking up the option that we have. I think Solomon will definitely be here next year, if nothing else we won’t get much of a fee given how much football he has missed the last 2 seasons. And we’re losing Perisic now and likely Gil before too long. We’ll hopefully have some sort of European football next season so he’ll get a lot more time to impress. There’s a good player there.

They’re completely different styles of player no doubt but I do think they’re also essentially going to battle it out for available game time that comes from Son not playing LW, as I don’t see Werner getting many opportunities at CF, likewise I don’t think Solomon will play much at RW.

Werner has a lot more pressure because if he doesn’t impress here then he goes straight back to Leipzig where his reputation will have been further damaged, having flopped in England twice as well as struggling second time round in Germany. I’d love to be wrong on Werner, especially as he seems a good character (mind you who isn’t at Spurs nowadays?) but of all the signings we’ve made under Ange, he was the most underwhelming prior to a ball being kicked for me. I had reservations over Vicario (how dumb was that?!) but was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but with Werner it just feels like we’ve brought in a pretty below par player for six months, he got a sort of Tom Carroll assist on his debut so fair play for that but other than that he was basically mirroring Johnson on the opposite flank, it really wasn’t a pretty watch and I don’t think it’s going to get much better if I’m honest, feels like we’ll be replaying the tapes from his Chelsea days but in a lilywhite shirt this time round.

With Solomon, whilst I don’t expect him to become a world beater, I feel like there’s a coachable player there that could become a handy squad option for us.

Very annoying that Conte totally misused him and then he got totally crocked this season.
I said that him and Richarlison would make an extremely useful Plan B and that was it.
Helped us to the 3 points against Sheffield United and his campaign was over.

I hope that he has a successful return to his boyhood club and has a full recovery.
He has the quality to put in a few good years for them, I think.

He’s been one of my favourite players of this recent generation so was pretty chuffed to see him in a Spurs shirt even if it was at the tail end of his career. I think he’s still more than good enough to play at the top so can imagine he’ll have a good few years back home.

Any financial news about the Perisic deal?

    Who’s covering his wages?

Croatian journalists and Hajduk's President seem to be suggesting that he's given up his salary.
He'll be paid €1 plus some win bonuses, all on their end.
Sounds really unlikely to me, but I'm not sure we'll ever find out the truth.

Seen one report suggesting Hajduk are paying him €1 a month

    That is not a typo

Spurs must be paying him something or a settlement. Like PNP said, we will probably never know.

Hope he gets fit asap and does well for them though.

The facts don't add up as they've been presented.
If he's given up his salary and he's getting paid virtually nothing, then why is it a loan?
The same applies if we've compensated him and let him go. It's odd.

He'll be back for late April at the earliest, by all accounts, so it's good that we can free up a spot.
Also useful for him to be back home and getting used to his new, old club.
They've also re-signed Nikola Kalinic, the ancient striker.
He used to play for Milan, Fiorentina, Atletico, Roma and Blackburn. All the greats...

Probably a "crossing the Ts and dotting the Is" exercise
    relating to squad registration.

I suspect Spurs will give some money to compensate
for the ACL injury occurring on our watch, but Perisic is
not demanding N weeks full wages if it means he can
return to Croatia and continue his rehab there for the
remainder (I assume he can still avail himself of Spurs
physio facilities - if he is that desperate :) ) .

Pete O’Rourke reckons we’re closing in on Nusa after overnight talks.

Hope it’s true as I really am liking this new Borussia Hotspur vibe.

One thing I've seen concerns about: aren't we at risk of exceeding our loan limit?

The rules allow a maximum of seven in and seven out, and we currently have eight out on loan even before a potential buy-and-loan-back for Nusa

While there are suggestions that Joe Rodon will be permanently joining Leeds this window to lower the number, we're still over the limit - barring some creative accounting for Ashley Phillips, considering Troy Parrott is considered an U21 loanee

surely there’s something in the transfer smallprint regarding the “loans” of perisic and dier? Whilst they’ve been advertised on social media as such, I’d imagine that we’ve done something clever for these not to count towards our quota? Especially as they’ll never play for us again.
