Nail on head. Nasri left for one reason only, the whole 'win trophies' argument had no bearing on his decision it's just an easy statement to hide behind. He was never going to be more than a squad player and I think he knew that, playing regularly is not as important as the increased wages he can now enjoy. Sold within the next 18 months would be my guess....
Part of me can't blame him. If I were offered a cushy job for 5 times my wages I'd bite your hand off. I appreciate it's a slightly different kettle of fish here as we already paid him (and offered him more) than most of us can dream of.
the rumour was WE were talking about going up to £90k, word got out and Manu 'hinted' at £120K..... so the Manchester Oil-well stepped in at - what ? £150k?
Yep I agree and I think the vast majority of people would, the problem with football is that emotion is involved, it's not a question of selling mobile phones for Vofafone one day then 02 the next because they're paying you £1k a year more, it's the fans who feel cheated especially when scum like Nasri lied to us for virtually all of 2011 just to secure the deal they wanted - nobody at Vodafone would give a **** if one of their many sales people wanted to leave....
I think they ended up at £180k to cover the cost of the agents commission - and this deal was agreed before the end of the 10/11 season by all accounts and were banged to rights for tapping up hence the £25m we snared for him when
A tad harsh... Yes, he is getting somewhere in teh region of £200K per week, but you have to empathise with him. He is in Manchester. However, he probably will win trophies this year, the very least of them being the PL.
I want to laugh at Nasri but, if Mancini plays him more centrally, or gives him a roaming role, whoa be unto the rest of the PL, he will be as effective if not more so for City than he was for us !!! He is still a quality baller.
Magic - it stands to reason that he will win trophies because his employers have no concept of money or the value of it, they will pay huge sums to get th ebest advice and then pay huge sums to obtain the best talent then pay huge fees and salaries to secure their services. I think they've worked on the 'if you throw enough darts one has to land' approach when it comes to transfer successes
Lay off Nasri chaps, I suspect it is the same people who drove Ade out doing the whinging now.... He (well his team), has more of a chance of winning trophies at the end of the seson than we are. I wish hm well, we got 25mill same as we did for Ade, what else do we want, considering he was in the last year of his contract..... If you guys have an issue, take it out with the inept board, the same board who are letting RVP run down his contract, to within a year!
How do you arrive at the opinion that the board is letting RVP run his contract down ? Nasri & Adebayor ****ed off because they were offered more money by Citeh, this is the same club that anounced a £195 millon loss last week
I do have some understanding, offered a share in an OIL-WELL, I'd take it too. Just don't try and pretend he's taking the moral high ground. ' wanting to win trophies?' fill his boots with gold more like!.
they pay more money. but they also realistically have a better chance at all the trophies than Arsenal do because of their resources. the unfortunate thing for Nasri is, while at Arsenal he was a big man in a small squad, at City he's just another resource, to be used when required but otherwise dispensable. so they may well win trophies, but he won't have anything like a key role in it like he would have had at the Emirates.
Does no-one remember the Nasri statements in Jan, Feb and right through the second half of last season, he backtracked and lied more that my missus and went out of his way to mislead the fans. I have no problem with players earning the dollar, I would have more respect for them if they said openly 'sorry guys but I've been offered a **** load of oil money and I'd be foolish not to take it' instead of this pre-scripted rubbish they come out with
I think the biggest problem with him is that Arsenal did offer him OVER what he asked for 135k a week I believe, and then accepted Citys 180k or whatever it is. Now I don't know about you, but If I was earning 135k (minus tax) a week, I really wouldn't care about an extra 45k a week. Ok it sums up to a LOT of extra money, but if Im earning 7 MILLION a year, would I give a **** about the extra money, NO. I'd just play with the club I enjoyed more, or who had put time to make me such a big name that I can earn 135k a week.
