**** me its freezing. Just been outside taking photos of my car. massive palava, bought a 2nd hand Q5 In November. Within 2 weeks my neighbour crashes into my parked car which causes some scratches and a bit of denting in the grill. Thought we would be settling this privately as she doesnt want to go through insurance and lose her no claims (i don't want mine to go up either) so i got the licence plate repaired for free and the paintwork redone (we had some sort of audi insurance thing). Bints only just decided she wants to go through insurance . Well can't fully blame her, my missus was asking for too much lol. On the other hand, insurance phoned me and they sometimes just settle it in cash. Will see what they come back
I did that recently, got crashed into. Went through other persons insurance, called them and asked for a cash settlement to go get it fixed myself and they agreed. Then I part ex the ****er and kept the money.
yeah i'd prefer not to go through insurance as your premiums go up even if its not your fault (i just put it into go compare, surprisingly only went up 50 quid). Car insurance such a scam man, lol exactly the same details i bought in Nov was 930 quid its already gone up to 1066 quid (when i did my search just now pre claims)
yes but its the hands that suffer most oh and the fun of just sliding on the ice and finding yourself in the road that one had me a tad concerned
mine didn't as the other drivers insurance copped for all the cost including auto hire car with temporary hand controls.(Direct Line)
yea shes already said its all her fault and her insurance is covering everything. I was just curious as i heard premiums go up so i just went on gocompare and did two quotes straight away (one with and without the accident and claim). 50 quid
not sure i can do that . Hell i'm not even sure what cash compensation they are going to give me as i've fixed most of the damage lol
Yeah someone hit my parked car in 2022, went through their insurance and had to let mine know. Didn’t cost me anything but it goes down as a no fault claim. My insurance went up by £60 because of it
Had to drive home in a snow storm last night. ****ing miserable Its been cold as **** for the best past of a 2 weeks now, talking -6 to -10. Sometimes it goes colder, combined with the wind it's horrific. But, this weekend is apparently going to thaw everything. Cannot wait.
Yeah, it just puts a stop to everything. You get people who don't live in it regular saying how you just get on with it. Haven't got a clue. It clogs the roads, you skid everywhere even with snow tires on, public transport HAS to stop, unless you want to be ****ing rammed by a bus who can't break. Walking is ****e. People here ski to work though, so they have found local solutions to it. What dya do if you don't have a set of skis lying about? Struggle.
